  • Re: Helmets

    Hi All,
Thank you for all the suggestions and explanations .
I had came down to final two SOL S5 and MT Blade. I was fitting an XL on SOL , costing about 6300. It had 18 vents

Fitted better than MT but made in China / Taiwan no sharp rating and very flickery air vent caps made me stick with MT Blade. Size L
Costed 5975 fit is snug .

The inner visor does not seem to have a top lock position in MT, causes a bit of discomfort if you agree to something rigorously

I'll add more reviews as I keep on using it.

I am planning to get an AGV K3 SV too , only for long rides

Sorry for bad images, I have been told I have pathetic photography skills

Take a look, it seems quite good.

My firend got one Gloss Black with green graphics. It looks good and quite good padding. But the L size for me was still loose, it was so light that it kept coming forward when the helmet cam was fixed near the chin area. The helmet looks good on paper but the fitting was something that bothered me

My best friend and his girlfriend (nagging one) passed away on 29feb in an accident. My friend had helmet but he didn't wore it to speak with her GF. Both fell in road because of loose gravel (thanks to our govt for not having strict laws on spillage from trucks)

Both of their heads were crushed by an truck with centipede like tyres (50+tyres) [emoji22]

Am not sure if helmet protects his head in such cases. Because I have never heard of helmet withstanding a truck load. Especially an heavy truck like this.

But I have a feeling that if he wore helmet his head would be sliding away from tyre if he wore a helmet because of round and Niger section of helmet.

So if you have a nagging girlfriend do a wheelie and push her down in home as soon as she sits on bike instead of dragging both to death.

Thanks for the info. I wear Spectacle, hence looking for a normal ISI one for city use, as putting on & taking off the MT regularly is a pain. PS- Even the MT is L size, but its damn tight.

Bought a new helmet for my GF Red.
Most of the helmets were not a snug fit so she decided to go with this.

May be. Things I say to myself to console me.

I think, its most important kind of gear. Your head is the most vulnerable when it comes to accidents; whenever a biker falls off his bike, one of the first things which must be protected is your head. For this to happen, one needs a sturdy and good quality helmet. Few things need to taken under consideration while choosing helmets:

Get The Right Shape And Size:Replace It At The Right Time: No one will tell you this, but the life of helmets only is till a period of time, after which they need to be changed.

Enough Ventilation: While selecting motorbike riding helmet make sure that it has proper ventilation.Don't buy something that leaves no room for ventilation.

I have recently purchased three Shark helmets from the High Note Performance, one for myself, another for my girlfriend and one for my best friend. They have diverse range made it easier to select. Shark Range of helmets is perhaps the best.

                            Cheers...!!!!
