Regarding the quality it feels very good to wear and makes you feel very safe compared to other competitors which are light. Having a DOT certified helmet is a good choice though. If you want at a cheaper rate let me know in DM. I will provide you my dealers details

SOL SL68S II- FLAT BLACK | Lets Gear Up

I found this link that sells Sol 68s 2, no graphics.
Can someone confirm if this is indeed legit and if the model is same as the Metalman albeit without graphics?

        Thanks,

              Steelbird Company service is pathetic.
Ordered a Steelbird Air (SBA 1) helmet for my father on 21st September from the steelbird website by making online payment on their website. Yesterday, even after 4 days, the status was still pending. So, when I called up the customer care, the person gave me a number. When I called the number, it doesn't work. Found a number of the despatch team from the mail and talked to the person. He said, "Sir aaj despatch ho jayega pakka". So, waited for the day and again checked the status today and its still pending. Called up the despatch guy, he is not answering the call. Called the customer care, she said "I work from Delhi, I cannot help you in anyway" and gave me a number of some senior manager Mr. Ramdev. Called up that number he said, "Sir, main Steelbird main kaam bhi nahi karta hun, wrong number hai". Called up the despatch guy again, same excuse, "Sir aaj pakka despatch ho jayega". After being frustrated I cancelled the ordered. Sent a mail to [email protected] the mail bounced back as the mail id is not found.

Just imagine, the contact details doesnt work. The people they ask you to contact dont exist. What kind of company is this?

So, be careful guys dont get fooled by this company. Buy from a genuine store directly. Wonder whether I would get my money back. :/

Ok, I just logged in to this website to enquire about steelbird helmets, and as soon as i opened this thread, there was complaint about steelbird(a sign maybe?).
So my question is, is steelbird a good company helmet? I liked the steelbird air sba-1. Is worth the money? Actually my budget got cut short, i had a budget of 3.5k now dropped down to 2k. Please suggest a nice helmet for that price.
Does the steelbird sba-1 good protection?
Or should i wait for some more time and buy the kranos helmet? And also I'm not going to buy helmets online as i want to try it out first before buying. Suggest a good place to buy helmets in bangalore.
                  Thank you.

AFAIK, Kranos has been discontinued. It also had shell cracking issue (the racer at kari was wearing a kranos)
2k? Get a Studds shifter. Personally used. Fitting depends on you. Windnoise is not a lot and spares are cheap. ~200/- for a transparent visor

                              • I want help buying a helmet (Budget 8k)

I am currently using a Vega Shadow dull dragon eye helmet, its pretty heavy but fits perfectly. I have used it for over 3 years now. In this time it has served good, although I never crashed or had an accident wearing that, so can't really say how safe it is. It has had some impacts though, it has fallen many times from small heights. Now I'm thinking of retiring this helmet from its services.
Now, I want a new good quality helmet within the price of 8k. I'm mainly looking for safety and quality. My use is daily wear and long distance Touring at least once a month.
I travel a lot. I go for small distance weekend getaway almost every week. And about one in a month or two I go for long distance tours (about 500-1000km one way distance).
I'm used to this Vega helmet so weight is not an issue. Though lighter one would be nice I suppose.
Not keen on matching colour with my bike, any colour scheme would do.
There are plenty of options in market - MT, THH, ARAI, SMK, HJC, ETC ETC....
Which one would you guys suggest, i have never used a high end helmet before and this will be my first, so i have no clues or experiences to help me decide. My budget as mentioned above is 8000.
Any inputs from your side is appreciated, thanks.
