  • Re: Helmets

    Hello all,

I owned a MT revenge for like 8 months or so, crashed in it, saved my head.

Its a very good helmet, one should consider it in that budget.

The helmet is sort of a oval headshape but its very narrow around the sides. Ventilation is decent, view is a bit narrow but nothing too serious.
Padding is hard and takes sometime to break in, once it does its comfortable.

Its fairly light and IMO its the best helmet you can buy in the 8k range if it fits your head, nothing comes close to the protection it provides.

    I currently own 3 helmets

MT axxis - just for city usage

    Hjc fg 17 -

Really good helmet, has basic ventilation scheme but does a good job in keeping my head cool.
It is snell and dot rated.
The best thing I like aboit this helmet is that it works for differnt types of riding positions and is very stable at speeds in excess of 140+ kmph and is quiet too.

And the last helmet I own is HJC rpha 10 halcyon

Now this helmet is amazing, the padding is so comfortable, you dont feel like you're wearing a helmet and its so light.
This one also vents very well and is also very stable, FOV is also good and the quality on this thing is amazing.

Both the hjc(s) come with pink lock insert in the box.
BTW the reason for 2 hjc is that both fit my head perfectly(im a neutral/intermediate oval headshape)

Options i have considered are :-
      1)Smk force steel
      2)Revolt turismo
      3)Mt gp replica

Any other options from you guys ?
I am leaning towards the revolt due to the D-ring
      Mechanism and high speed stability.
Wanted to know your opinions, any help would be appreciated.
Try MT Thunder 3. I'm using it personally, and all I can say is that the wind reduction damn amazing.
      Ventilation's good.

So I went back to the store from where I bought the helmet and they told me they don't sell them anymore, however they could try to get the visor for me. It has been 1 month and still not available. Does anyone know from where I could get the visors for this helmet. I have searched the whole internet including their official website and still no use. Any help will be appreciated
Shaft is a Spanish brand if i am not wrong. And even here in delhi no one sells it. Best bet finding the visor is online at some international e retailer or the company site.
You can try getting a local fiber visor made from some helmet repair wala.

          Hello fellow riders,
Bought FZ25 a few days back and now I'm looking for a helmet.

Previously I was using Steelbird (Adonis) with my Passion Pro. The helmet is so light(<900gm) but can't really comment on the quality part considering it's a 900 Rs. helmet.

Being a student I'm quite tight on budget. Can you guys please suggest me some best buy near around 3k-4k or should I raise the budget (which is kinda difficult).

          TIA, open to all suggestions!

I am quite novice in terms of good helmets floating around. I have been using a studds half face helmet while riding my pulsar 150. Recently i have upgraded to dominar and wish to buy a new helmet:

            - which covers full face
            - has good protection against worst of impact given that i will use this bike on highways for touring/exploring purpose.
            - has decent ventilation and less likely to fog up with breath.
            - Budget is set to up to 9k INR.

You've got a lot of options in that price bracket. Search for MT helmets, LS2s, HJCs, Revolt helmets.
I'm not too good with the exact names. Personally, I use a MT Thunder3. 5750/- Will suit all ur requirements.
Having a budget of 9K gives u a lotta better options.
Try Bell Qualifier. Saw it retailing for 8000/- somewhere, don't remember exactly. It's pretty good too

For 300/- more, u can buy SMK Twister @ 4300/-. Best value for money at this price.
Strictly adhering to the budget, check Studds Shifter (2500/-)
                THH, AXR helmets (3000)

I appreciate you taking your time out from your highly BUSY routine and giving SUCH a VALUABLE piece of advice.
But let me tell you that the way the search on Xbhp works is it doesn't understand semantics and displays posts with exact keyword matching.
So unless you know the exact keywords you may just be shooting in thin air without aiming on anything.
There are only two possibilities where you can know the exact keywords:
                      1) you have read that post in the past and are able to recall well.
                      2) you are really lucky that you came up with the exact keyword before getting frustrated by the irrelevant results that you were not interested in.

So my humble advice to SPECIAL people is, rather wasting your VALUABLE time in posting "use search feature", provide the search text that you may recall from the past. That would be really helpful to take things forward.

If it is too uncomfortable, get a large size. If not, it'll be comfortable as time passes cuz the padding will take some time to adjust
