Just like shoes, jackets, pants, Helmets too need break in period. It will be become less snug with time. Although it should be tight from forehead and quite snug at cheeks

thanks for your response. How much tight is too tight for a helmet? How long does it take to adjust? I find it difficult to wear in and wear off ...will that be adjusted too,as time passby?

Yes it should be tuff to wear and take off initially. And cheek pads should press the cheeks so u can feel discomfort while speaking but it would get comfy and snug with usage.
A helmet which goes easily on the head would come off easily in case of a fall and that is not good.
Mine was too tight at the cheeks and difficult to wear but now the cheek pads are better and i am not feeling any discomfort while wearing it.

The adjustment period can be anywhere from 1 - 4 months. I bought a Steelbird Air which was tight at the forehead, so much that I felt a bit of a headache coming on everytime I rode more than 40 mins, even felt some pain around the ears where it used to be a bit tight. After 3 months or so, it became more comfortable, don't know if the padding adjusted over time or I got used to it

I feel little better using it now! I've used it on a 100km ride yesterday and now it feels better! I guess padding adjust with time! Mt thunder sv3 is awesome! I've used for 100km and didnt even sweat! ventilation is much better! Noice cancellation is good too! I've clocked 70kmph and found its great!

Brother, do you realize that if people stopped asking questions here this thread would be dead?
This thread is there to help, its about discussion on helmets. There will always be new members joining to the community with no knowledge about helmets (I was too once), and they would obviously ask for suggestions on which helmet to buy!
Yes google does help, but the level of satisfaction by taking a actual advice real-time is different. In my opinion, please let the thread be always alive with questions, answers and suggestions!

I hope you all do realize that genuinely inquiring about something with some research is different from just putting up a post with no prior effort of reading through the forum put into it.
The community develops through queries and their responses but those have to be with material that contributes to the discussion not just repeatitive and lazy questions without a second put into it.
The people who've been in this forum for long have been patiently answering these queries again and again and again. But the person putting up the post also has a responsibility to at least read a bit before just blatantly putting up a query. Google is there for a reason, the search on this forum is there for a reason.
After doing your bit, if you have any query, any doubts selecting the product, I'm sure all would be happy to help you out. But a question just asking 'what helmet to buy for so & so rupees' is utter laziness. At least shortlist a few and ask about them.
Since we don't have a very strict moderating system like the "other" forum, it's up to us to maintain the quality.
                    Peace out.

Well put mate. Hope this clears the air atleast for a few more days to come before the repetition cycle begins.

Even the answers to the same questions are/were real time, by users and members. I do reply to queries when it is something that has not been answered or will have different answers.
Also thread wont die, no matter what, people keep on buying helmets and will share it here. Others will appreciate it or will pour in more suggestions, people will ask from "given/tried" options as per their budget, others will give the positives and negatives.

Exactly, when one can type a query, just add 10minutes more and search it. The youth today can find how to adjust tappets, I am sure they can search how to find posts with answers.

@All : I use sarcasm because , How would you feel if I or others keep on asking same questions again and again. I tried answering questions all these years that I have been on this forum.

My MT revenge is size M. Bought around 6 months and 5000kms ago.
My head measures 55cms above the eyebrows and according to most brands' size charts I should go for size S. But it was too tight, Had to go for M. Even the M was really tight and this being my first full face helmet I was unsure about how snug it should be. But after using it I can say size M is perfect for me, feels secure. Also keep in mind helmets are evenly shaped while heads are not, so use the size chart just as a general guide. On the racetrack maybe size S would be ideal for me where safety takes priority over comfort.
Advice for you - first check SPG exchange policy, then try a few helmets at stores in both sizes M and L. Wear a balaclava while doing so, I always do. Exchange to size L only if you are certain it is needed
Also keep in mind if your weight is on the upward trend or downward, that would make a difference for sure

Hello, People! I just bought an SMK Twister (Size-M) and it's a pretty snug fit on the cheeks and other areas, not too tight, not too loose, but it kind of gets a bit uncomfortable on the ears, as they fold inside the helmet. Now I was wondering if the padding near the ears would also loosen up a bit, or only the padding around the cheeks is the one that 'breaks-in'. Also, how much time does this Breaking-in of the padding usually take?

Break in time depends on the frequency of wearing. In my case, it took a month to get comfortable. I wore it everyday, for around 2 hours (commute) and maybe more on Sundays (rides).
Or, wear a balclava. It'll make the fitting smoother and more comfortable.

Thanks for the Information! Yeah, I've tried wearing a balaclava inside, and it feels a little better after that!
