            • A person told me this. We must wear a bandana or cloth inside a helmet or balaclava. Because the sponge in the helmet pulls our hair. This may cause balding over prolonged use!

              What do you guys think?

I wear a helmet cap for Rs.20. Serves the purpose. Tibby has posted some pics of it a few pages back.

Regarding the balding bit, there were numerous interviews with various trichologists in the newspapers, when helmets were launched here (almost 3 years ago).. & 1 question that was common in all these interviews was on balding.. All the docs unanimously said that it was only a myth, and wearing helmets did not lead to hairfall..
I do wear a cloth (i think its called a helmet cap), and its very comfy.. Makes your helmet fit very nicely, and feels more comfy.. Wearing a bandana is a bit tedious, so the helemt cap is recommended..
As Sarvajit mentioned, I have posted some pics as well as benefits of the helmet cap a few pages back..

                  My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

+1 to that... a couple of years before i was also nervous about the balding while wearing helmets... and in those days i regret to wear the helmets... i personally think without wearing helmets causes dust, polluted air, etc. etc. will cause the hair strength and smoothness will go and with out helmets at high speed riding cause damage to the eyes and will effect front hair loss... actually a GOOD QUALITY HELMET will protect our hair(in fact the head/life )...

Satya go for a balaclava instead.its easy to use and also useful while touring.I know it might be a bit of a hassle in pune but still manageable.
U get a good one starting from 350 onwards

IMO, Balaclava is only good in case of touring only...for small city rides we can have that cap..

Yes sir i am using this cap in city coz it's too hot in city ride rathar than touring. it will absorb the sweat from your hair this makes easly comb your hair.
