which one is better in ninja 3g n Boolean?
Can I get other full face (non modular) vegas in the same range?

I know these are too many questions but Im confused...Where can I get these on MG Rd?
I wouldn't recommend the Boolean, as a lot of people complained about the fit being uncomfortable.

Since you want a plaing glossy black, you could try the MPA AGV for ~ 1.7-1.8k

          • Hi guys. I'm here to ask you a question that I'm sure most of you haven't heard before in your life. So here it goes =>

Of Course a little bit of drama build up before I let the question out. So I was ordered to clean my room this fine sunday morning and with disgust I started the cleaning process. Took the best part of the whole frigging morning and I was done finally at 1:00 afternoonI know!!. Well just then I thought about fixing up some electrical stuff(minor soldering needed)lying around. So started searching around for my dad's old soldering rod. Another 30minutes went by and then I finally found it. But what I found along side it was something that took my interest so much that I forgot all about the soldering stuff and got right to it.

It was my dad's helmet. He bought only one helmet his whole life and there I was .... holding it in my own hands. He used to let me wear that helmet when I was a kid and we went in the morning ofr milk or something.....was so young in those days that I don't remember much. I thought he had lost it somewhere but to my surprise (and praise) he saved it. What can I say ...... I used to love that thing

So now the question part. I've learnt to ride a bike properly(taking off from stop...under control that is, U turns, U turns from complete halts, Power walking, Use of indicators and horns) but all this has been done without much use of helmet(I know .... I'm not proud of it) and now that I wish to ride in traffic.......I need a helmet.

What I was thinking is that Can my father's old helmet be restored to a good enough condition?? It's a three quarter sheel helmet. The fibreglass portion(outside covering) is fully intact(It'll need a good paintjob though......I'm fine with all black too). The padding that touches the top of the head is also fine. The padding that touches the cheek and that which supports the lower part of the head(neck portion) is gone due to rats. It'll need a good new visor.....though I have the old visor intact but it'll give the helmet too old a look for my styling.

Guys I'm not looking for a restoration job. I'm looking for complete modofication so that I can wear a lid (that's over 30 years old) and looks no different than our present generation helmets.

So my question is : Can this be done?? If so where (in delhi)(Won't mind going to ncr areas even as this is very very close to my heart!)........although my budget for this is unlimited but really can't spend more than 700 bucks for it

            Any help guys??

            • @lockhrt999: I had the Boolean but didn't like the fitting so switched to the Ninja 2G. I have posted a review here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...tml#post193388
Boolean has removable padding&head vents plus internal visor, Studds 2G/3G don't. Padding quality is way better for the Studds IMO.

@Parth:Padding can be changed, rubber lining etc.repaint, everything is possible. But if the helmet has been banged around or fallen off even once or twice it will not have any strength left in it.
Most helmets have a lifespan of 3-5 years, even if you don't bang or drop it. Think about it. The price you pay to get this old lid restored can buy you a new lid which is safer.

Dude I do understand that the helmet may not have much strength left in it. But still I wanna do it. I guess it's an emotional thing. I want my father's hand over my head when I ride. Most probably I'll get another helmet for daily use after that. But I am intent on getting thought with this restoration job. Any place in Delhi where this is possible??

                    • @ all--- BEWARE
am frm mumbai and have bought 3 of my helmets-vemar(2.5k) agv(3k) and currently using a cross (4.5k) from FUNKYS @ bandra.
Recently i went to buy a colored visor from him and i was quoted 450 bucks (which is a complete rip-off). it was a normal blue shaded visor and without a silver or gold tinge.
when the dark colord long haired fellow lookd at my helmet he said, " arrey yeh toh 3.5k ka hai, toh 450 ka visr kharidne mein kya probs hai>>?!!"
so basically these guys sell helmets at any whimsical price and know their monopoly.
I would want to know a better place than funkys .

p.s do not suggest any grant road shops. been there done that. Although i need to go to balus once (vashi i suppose)

                      • Ummm... if you guys in Mumbai feel that the helmet sellers have a monopoly, consider our situation in Hyderabad. At one time one Hyd member bought a helmet here for 6.5K and someone in Mumbai bought the very same thing for under 3K

Then Karol Bagh it is this sunday.

Btw: I went to a local helmet shop in my area(They had loads of ozone helmets on displays....others brands were there too but I don't remember their names) to check out if the restoration job can be pulled of. The guy though very helpful, sheepishly told me that they don't do this sort of stuff. They just sell helmets and don't have any sort of paddings or any of the things I wanted. Still he recomended that I get the job done from any roadside helmet-wala as they usually keep all the stuff needed to patch up a helmet. He also told me that the whole thing will set me back by just 50-100 bucks!!

Sheesh.......I don't want low quality padding for the helmet. Just cause I'm adding new padding to an old, used helmet doesn't means that I'm financially broke or anything!!

Anyways I'm off to karol bagh next weekend.

i was looking through this thread for a good helmet and came across one on page 96.
Is this helmet available in bangalore ??
If it is, please tell where i can get it. 850 seems like a really good price.
Anyone know if the company "autogreen" is reliable ??
