Rs 1700 for two visors(dunno the guy whom i sent over bargained or not nor do i know the price quoted was inflated as i don't have a bill, but in most probability, it wasn't raised)

Just checked: the prices on the PRS website are different from the prices that are being quoted / the labels on the helmets. Mav, call PRS and check.
i got a discount of Rs.400 after buying gears worth 32K and was said that you are the first person to ask for it

SparX isn't known or is a very good helmet, but has managed to get 3*, on par with Arai,

1700 for two seems good, am not a fan of Balaji helmets. They tend to overquote a lot.

@ Mav - Where are you planning on buying it from ? Orion ? JC Road ? Let me know. They were supposed to get new models and larger sizes a week back. Need to check them.

I don't think it is AGV branded, however it fits into the AGV and does the job. I couldn't care less.

        • help needed...urgently..!!!

hi all, I am new in Mumbai and I recently booked my Unicorn Dazzler (which is expected to be delivered in 4-5 days). I need a good helmet to go with my new ride. My budget is around 3-3.5k (4k max).
Please suggest a few good helmet shops in Mumbai (preferably near Powai) where i can find brands like LS2, AGV, CROSS etc...
Also suggest some models which can come in my budget.
          Thanks in advance

                • Is there any helmet which has photochromic visors(just like photochromic glasses which turn dark when exposed to sun)...the days are so hot i put off long rides fearing sunburns(my skin is a bit more photosensitive)...the black visors in my helmet manage to keep my head relatively cool(less less hot) during the day but riding at night is impossible..any suggestions/other ideas please...sorry if this issue has been discussed before

                  • Buy an Icon helmet with two-in-one visors. I saw someone on xbhp(malliah) using it.

Keep the helmet covered when its not in use to avoid dings and scratches.

To clean the visor i use plain water and dry it with a microfiber towel. For stubborn stains like bug stains, bug blood , use a mild soap and rinse it with plain water. Dry with a microfiber towel. Do not use colin etc. Soap will also ensure that the visor does not fog up with change in ambient temperatures.

                              why?

colin is purposely made to clean glass,

^is it because colin has some chemicals which shall harm the coating kya?

I wouldnt be able to provide a technical explanation but i would never use a chemical based cleaner on the visor. These could be abrasive, distort light at night, cause the plastic to become brittle, etc. I may be going overboard but plain water and soap does the job well. Why use chemicals when natural stuff is just as good with no side effects guaranteed?
