thanks bro ... But here is another thing ... my friend bought a cruiser style open face LS2 for his new avenger 220. It came with a mercury tinted mirror finish visor. The elaborate instruction sheet ( i'm referring to the one that is stuck on the visor itself ) said "day/night visor".
The only problem is , he got the bike and helmet 3 days back and he has not riden at night. Just late evening and he said the visibility was fine and hence he feels that night visibility should also be fine ...

Dont these mirror finish visors work on the following principle :
When outside intensity is high , some of the light is reflected and only a portion of it passes through.
When outside light intensity is low , it behaves almost like a clear visor because most of the light passes through ....

Please correct me if im wrong ...

NOTHING LIKE THAT...MERCURY COATED VISORS ARE UV PROTECTED VISORS(CROSS,LS2 AND OTHER INTERNATIONAL BRANDS)..NOT SURE ABOUT STUDDS VEGA THOUGH, and these visors are flexibe..they dont break easily when compared to any local visor...the portion of the light passing through the visor is same(whether morning,afternoon,evening,night)..only difference in mercury visors and normal black visors is that mercury visors arent that dark as compared to a normal black visor, hence the glare is less in the night and one can use mercury visors where there is ample street lighting in the night

Get yourself an LS2 or Vega Shadow dude, they are really good and moreover you can check the fitting etc.well since you may not be able to do that if you order it.

          • Has Planet DSG stopped selling helmets altogether?

I was wondering where I can buy good Daijya helmet for my new blue R15. But some say it's not good and is fake.
For now, I have bought a Beon helmet at the Orion Motors, Bangalore . Not sure how good it is. Can anyone advise if Beon is better than Daijya or should I go for a better helmet (my budget is around 4k).

            Thanks,

                hi,

Vega is using the visors of high standard quality which are been used in international market, in many branded helmet companies.
We have CLEAR VISOR, DULL SMOKY, DARK SMOK, CROME VISORS & RAINBOW VISORS,
Which are anti scratch & anti glare visors. All the visors will give you protection from UV rays. But Crome & Rainbow visors reflect UV rays And hence give more cooling effect in day time..
Visors can be cleaned with soft cotton cloth or can be washed with mild soap water to avoid scratches due to small dust partials.

                  • Could you guys please tell me what's the price for LS2,LS2 Ghost et al?.

I am thinking of buying one but the prices here in Noida are quoted as upwards of 3.5k...Anyone from Delhi please confirm it if these are the prices around NCR..

Also, owners from other parts I'd like to know how much are these models at your place..If it comes for cheap,I can happily courier one from any known place..The reason behind all this is because I've heard people quoting price of these makes for around 2.5k...

                    Waiting for your replies..

                    Thanks,in advance..

Is it? I have seen all the 'popular' brands and still went for a Daijya. Only neg was that cheekpads wore off too quickly, specially at the bottom where the rexin is. The only thing I have seen more solid than that is...my new AGV Miglia. Here goes...

I wanted a solid flipup so purchased this from eBay US. The pics are taken with the Iridium visor, which was purchased separately from the same seller. I use the clear one mostly, yet the check out the one in pics.

BTW, I damaged the one of the screws that hold the visor. Will do a FeviQuick patch, replace later if neccessary.

                        Pros:
                        - Most solid flipup I have seen. Yet to see Nolan and Shoei ones though
                        - Very reassuring chin locking mechanism
                        - Nice fit around the cheek area
                        - Ventilation is ample enough for hot days
                        - Comes with anti-fogging visor

                        Cons:
                        - Little too tight to take off, but mine is still to complete a week
                        - No double-d ring strap, the locking kind we see in most Indian brands. Still, very solid comparitively

LS2 or vega instead of HJC or Scorpion?

The HJC's and scorpions are light years ahead than LS2 and vega in terms of safety etc. I have serious doubts if LS2 or Vega lid's are subjected to any kind of safety crash tests.

For your budget you can get the SparX or KBC helmet. SparX is a notch better than KBC though. SparX is available through Performance Racing Store. Check their site and dealer locations in cities across India.

Mercuric/Tinted visors are not meant for night riding.. !
It is clearly mentioned on the visor itself. Moreover after switching from a mercuric to a clear visor .. i found the clear one too Good... the visibility is so darn good... be it night or day ... i find it pretty safe and practical too.

                              • Hi Guys,
I bought myself Pulsar 220F Black. Would be delivered soon.
I want to buy a nice helmet now.
I have checked vegaauto.com, liked the offroader helmet, but my friends advised not go for it as it wont be confortable.
They advised me to go for a Full Face.
My cousin's friend got an LS2 Phobia from Bangalore, its just awesome, but he got it from Bangalore. Is it available in Mumbai?
My budget is around 2k, can extend upto 3 k.
Btw are helmets too measured in XXL unit(no idea about it), i am 6.1 so i think only XXL would fit me..
I would really appreciate if anyone post some links regarding the same which would help me select some and if possible the stores in mumbai from where i can get them
                                Thanks Guys,
