About the helmet, stretch your budget and get the Thunder SV, they come with an internal sun visor, if you don't want that though, Mugello is a good enough choice.
About the gloves, buy two pairs, one dedicated summer gloves for commuting, mesh/leather mix and dedicated winter/waterproof gloves as waterproof gloves won't give you the same level of comfort in scorching heat/humidity as ventilated summer gloves.
Can't help you with the knee protectors as I believe riding pants/denims make for a better choice. I'm sure someone else here will have a better opinion than mine.
    All the best.
Thanks bro I'll look try those out and decide.

There's a lot of information on this thread but its all scattered.

Would be using this gear for daily commutes of 70km roundtrip and occasional tours (500 -1k km+)

•Budget for helmet- 5k (can stretch upto 7k)
°Preference: certifications (DOT, ECE), double d ring, good ventilation and padding, easily available and affordable spares, should be available in white or light colors (wearing black or darker shades in Bombay would boil the insides of the head)
→ I have selected the MT Mugello series, feel free to suggest others.

•Budget for jacket: 6k (can stretch upto 10k)
°Preference: level 2 protection (installed or upgradable to), good ventilation, should be all season, not too heavy

    •Budget for gloves: 3k
°Preference: waterproof, good protection and build quality, good ventilation so could be used in Bombay's super humid climate as well.

    •Budget for knee protectors: 2k
°Preference: don't know much about this as have only heard about scocyo protectors, should do its job well without restricting movement, preferably protects the shin too.

Total budget: 16k (can stretch upto max 22k)

P.s. I'm also looking for a sturdy mobile holder if maybe anyone can help me with that and good paint protection for my bike around Bombay.
If anyone of you stay nearby can maybe help me or guide me towards shops that could.

    Many thanks,
    Purna
    Ride safe and ATGATT.
1- Helmet is as good as it gets for the price, try to buy a Pinlock insert with it, would cost you 1450/- but makes a world of difference during rains and winters.

2- Buy Raida Tourbine / Rynox T pro - both come with known level 2 protectors and a full size winter liner. Raida will be lighter than Rynox, both are level 2. Buy a back protector with it. (would cost you 1650 to 2150, both the jackets do not come with a good back protector, just a foam pad). Also you can wait for new jackets coming up, many have been showcased at Rider Mania Goa. (I expect January launches, will try to ask brands)

3- Waterproof gloves would be very uncomfortable in summers. I would recommend buying two pairs from the money you save from helmet and jacket.
    * Leather gloves - Solace Bravo v2 is the most VFM and latest launch. ₹3200 for full gauntlets.
*Winter/rain gloves - Raida RainX or Solace Striker both are good and newly launched/updated.

4- Knee protectors are very restrictive and uncomfortable in my opinion. Buy a Scoyco K12 / Solace Pace knee guard for the time being and start saving for a riding pant. (both are different type of knee guards)

5- Mobile holder - RAM mount is trusty, others are finicky. Copies of RAM mount are available everywhere, do buy it with a good quality tether (rubber elastic).

6- Not much idea about paint protection available at your place.

Then I came across Aspida, they have a separate one for woman as well.. Not sure how that is too.. Level 1 for elbow shoulder and back is upgradable I suppose..

Can someone put some light, as do we need Level 2 for elbow and Shoulder? And the best brand + value that I can get for my budget...
    Check this link:

They have a good set of jackets on discount!
As suggested, AIR GT is a good choice and comes within your budget after the discount. The Scrambler series from Mototech is also worth looking at.

Buy a pair of Rynox Air GT v2's. These are all weather with detachable liners. Not the best, but pretty decent jackets. A pair of these would cost less than 12000.
Now, with the money saved, find yourself genuine L2 armours, and put these in the jacket. Start with arm and shoulder, then get the back. Don't spend too much on the jacket, rather do it on the armour.
Point noted and sounds like a deal to me.. Thanks..

I did not have this much of budget but went for it due to the unavailability of some of the jackets selected by me. Was also not impressed with a few jackets in the price range of 8.K-9K when I practically checked those. There are not too many reviews for this jacket but whatever is there, is positive. I will be reviewing the jacket in detail in a separate thread. But my initial impression suggest(going by the quality and fitting) that my money has been spent well!

I have this too and have used it for couple of long rides. 2nd ride was with thermals and they really worked well. Stitching quality can be improved slightly, but not a real killer as yet. But great choice of jacket.

I use MT revenge and SOL Alpha SF5.

Both are pretty decent in wind noise, but my speeds are generally 80-110kmph.

Thanks for the mention brother, but honestly I feel you had all the knowledge and also bought it yourself. My recommendation to you was a tornado and aspida in that budget, if I remember. Though you really pushed the budget for protection, really appreciate that.

Great going. Ride safe. Furious is one very functional jacket. Been using it since quite sometime. ATGATT.

Requirements are - level 2 protection, durable, well ventilated, rain/winter liners and should not look sore to the eye. I've zeroed in on the following after doing my part of research and going through the last few pages of this thread. I know some of these do not meet all my requirements but then I should not ask for all the features at such a price point.

    1. Mototech Scrambler/Contour(I do not have much idea about Mototech products apart from the fact that they are VFM). Liked the Trailblazer too but beyond my budget.
    2. Zeus All Terrain(offers many things together - not sure about whether the quality is good)
    3. Aspida Nemesis 2(specs are good)
    4. Rynox Tornado Pro L2(slightly beyond my budget)

Apart from these, I had shortlisted Alpinestars AST Air, RYNOX STEALTH EVO and Zeus Airdrift which I wish I could've afforded at this point!

    Need suggestions.

Got a Rynox Magnapod tank bag (latest release), impressions follow soon. It is ₹3250 on their website. The shape retention is very good and the phone pocket in portrait mode is something I liked a lot. The magnets are very strong. It comes with straps too, although I might not use them. No nonsense design - the bag can be converted to backpack without opening the base. Found this on solace tank bag too.

Got to use solace furious winter liner with my mesh jacket from Raida in dropping zero degree Celsius. Must say the liner quality is very very good, no windchills.

Also the solace striker, raida rainX and RE polar, all work very well in colder climates. Tested for zero. But I don't think they will handle minus degrees very well, you will need under gloves or skiing gloves there.

Got to try the thermal liner of my riding pants too, and despite being a mesh body on thigh, the liner helps a lot to keep the wind chill and temperature effect to almost nil.
I am amazed as to how good these things work. I carried the rain liners just in case, but didn't need them at all.
Weather is pleasantly cold in Uttarakhand and I am waiting for the snow. Another year of snow fun with whole set of new things to play around with.
Prepping for a winter ride to untouched valleys and hills of Uttarakhand this time and documenting them if possible.
