I have a one piece rainsuit and I can wear it only in torrential rain since it brings down the temperature to a comfortable level.

Waterproof as they are, you will be cooked in Mumbai weather with this setup. One of the reasons why rain-suits are not very successful in India.

No idea. I have just seen the review. Haven't visited any website where I could buy one. Was thinking of going for the tourmaster earlier which comes to 71 + 25 (shipping) = 87 dollars. Doesn't make sense to pay 25 dollars for just one item, which led me to this one. Lemme know if you find a good website to pick it up from.Originally posted by anants_220 View PostSeems like what we need here in Mumbai for at least 4 months a year ! Any idea how much it would cost including shipping ?Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

You're right! I face it with my current 3/4 rain suitOriginally posted by bluevolt View PostWaterproof as they are, you will be cooked in Mumbai weather with this setup. One of the reasons why rain-suits are not very successful in India.

. During dry run periods, I guess we'll have to keep it open, at least at the chest :P. The reason I like this one is that its simple and doesn't have lining like the tourmaster which might cook the roost a bit more. Although I agree with you none-the-less; I still need one to keep my pants and shirt dry. Most of the two piece suits available are useless I hear.

Actually if the rain-suit has a light mesh liner inside it will help keep you cooler, which is the purpose of the liner. The mesh traps air in between, creating an air-barrier between your skin and the waterproof material, making sure that it doesn't stick to your skin with the dampness from your sweat. A non-lined product is meant for colder weather.
BV is spot on on his observation - I too have a one-piece rainsuit which I have worn just once - totally unusable in humid Chennai/Mumbai type weather.

So what do you guys do to protect yourself in the rains? Do the locally available two piece suits help?Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! I have not commuted by bike to work for almost 15 years - I've been driving, so I cannot suggest a modern day solution with authority. I can however tell you how I used to handle rainy day riding 15 years ago. Wore lightweight cotton casuals under my Duckbacks and changed to formals in the office! Simple!
For my touring and leisure riding in wet weather today, I use a two piece Cordura textile touring suit which has seamed joints but also has overlapped vents in the chest and back which allow air to pass through ( under and into the jacket through an overlapping flap-type vent in the chest and out the back in a similar fashion). The pants too have vents with waterproof zippers. Have had zero issues so far. The jacket part is suitably long so that it overlaps the pants completely even in a crouched position on my Ninja 250R, not allowing any water to seep in. The pants are long enough to wear over the edge of my touring boots which are rain-proof.
Before I got the Cordura suit I used a Quechua two piece rainsuit where the jacket was long and covered the top of the pants well - no problem with that either, but the flap vents in that were only in the back of the jacket. Of course it is not as comfy to wear in sultry climes as the Cordura suit.

Guys, advice me which to choose between DSG Nero and DSG Maze based on the information below.
- Both are in my budget.
- Will be wearing it daily for 70 kms (35 kms one way).
- Shoudn't kill me of heat since I have to ride after 11am many times, hence it should be airy enough.
- Will be wearing it during the rain, so should be waterproof and be able to dry fast.
- Should be easy to maintain and last for at least 2-3 years.
What is the warranty period for DSG jackets?

JK17 is not waterproof, it will protect against light drizzle only but in medium to moderate rains you will get soaked within minutes, iam speaking this from my experience. you will need a separate rain coat to go along with this jacket.Originally posted by Ameya220 View Postthis jacket ( Scoyco) can b used in heavy rains. Have you ever used it in rains.
PS: pls avoid quoting the whole post. while quoting delete the unwanted parts and quote only the relevant portions. not only its annoying for people with slow internet speeds but it also takes up a lot of unnecessary space.hope you got my point." if WRONG is a T-shirt ; then wearing it inside out doesn't make it RIGHT "

anants_220 :-Originally posted by anants_220 View PostIMO, any jacket which has air vents will not be water proof. I use a big sized raincoat over the jacket when I go for longer rides.
BTW bought FOX knee and elbow guards from Ebay for Rs 620. They seem to be a good buy. Haven't used them yet though.
Even I thought of buying the same Fox Knee and Elbow guards. However i ve read mix reviews of Fox products here. Major chink of people say in India we get duplicate Fox guards. Not the originals .. Anyway could you please put up a review asap specially about the fit and finish - screws, rebets etc .. Another member of xbhp - Madhav Krishna has already posted his review about the same product. Waiting for ur review ...

I have the A* Bionic knee guards and they are awesome. I never ever ride without them. The only issue is the velcro is very weak and tends to stop sticking after a few months. Not a big issue as you can buy a velcro strip and stitch it over the existing ones for nothing more than 50 bucks. The issue is with the soft part of the velcro strap.Originally posted by harsha645 View Posthai everyone,

One of my buddies also has a pair of this and had a nasty fall while negotiating a curve on his ninja... he was unscathed and had not even a scratch.
Totally VFM and highly recommended.

Guys its time I got myself a new pair of boots cum riding boots. I want them to be comfortable for walking around and office too. Orazo is good but I would prefer to buy the shoes in person by wearing them and walking around a bit. Also my skin is pretty sensitive. So a high quality materials is a must.
From what I have searched around, I find the army boots, Acme safety boots and JCB safety boots to be good. While I can get the army one near Shivaji Nagar here at Bangalore and the JCB at Reliance Footmart, I am not sure about the acme ones. From your personal experience, can you guys tell me which is good?
While the safety boots come with grip on all sorts of terrain, offer protection against force till 200 Joules and water resistance, I am not aware of the army one's capabilities. Can someone throw some light on it?2004 Bajaj Discover 125 DTSi - 26000 KM - Sold

I have a pair of Orazo Picus (although can't be worn at office), and they are very comfortable! The water resistance capability suck but the grip is awesome even on algae!
