Now there are lots of good stuffs in and around 7k in India itself

SHIFT jackets are of real good quality, although me never used it, have heard from guys who used it, it's pretty good stuff, although not available in India.

In UK you have lots of in-house brands, so it's better to go for a brand that people have used more and have lots of reviews, instead of getting something from UK, knowing it's cheap and then you don't wanna suffer in India.

RST are really fantastic apparel manufacturers, I've had their non-armored pant once and it stood up very well before giving up. RJays All Season Pants too are excellent ones, and comes with waterproof liner. And there are many sites in UK where you can buy online, but what I want you make sure before you do is this.

Obviously anything imported from overseas has a duty and all the tax stuff associated with it, as you mentioned a 1 to 1.5k increase, so that's out of the equation!

• Check your pant, jacket size correctly before you do from any online retailers. A size small or larger, you are in trouble. If you purchase in India, you have an option of couriering it back to them with not that much loss, and if you purchase them in a shop, you can choose your fit, whereas overseas, you do the math
• Brand consistency, and product quality, not everything out there is built for the last, but then we need them to last at least for a while paying significant amount of money when you buy abroad. So don't go for anything that's a bargain out there, you get what you pay for, which I strongly believe in.
• Now if you go to UK then it's a completely different story, meaning you can choose it exactly to your spec then and there.

Will be buying only Gloves if it fits into my Brothers hands nicely since we both have a similar size.
Besides it can be bought over the counter in the store.

I'm in the process of completing my riding gear kit, have decided on boots and pants which I will order from the US.

Now gloves is the only issue remaining, now I need ventilation, the more the merrier. I'm struggling to find anything from the US, with decent protection and ventilation, a full gauntlet is a must. I have been looking at the Planet DSG gear, they seem to give reasonable amount of protection, now there is the Primal, Vector and Carbon to choose from, which one is best for me?

And what about sizing, my dominant hand measures a tad under 9 1/2 inches, which equates to most companies as a large or borderline XL.

Now according to the DSG size chart (attached) I am a Medium, their chart seems way off any normal scale, I'm pretty sure I have never met anyone with 12" wide hands. So how is the sizing of these gloves? any users care to give some feedback?

Now that you need a full gauntlet, why don't you go for the DSG Primal, it's a full gauntlet glove, with vents, and offers pretty adequate rain protection (don't expect much, but adequate, yes it saves you from most pours)

Now, your hand measuring 9 1/2 you can go with L and your size is indeed an L. Indeed I am a 9.5 too.

I was confused initially too, but a good friend of mine who deals with leather goods, helped me measure my hand accurately, and as I suspected I am a size L which fits me perfectly. 1/2 an inch here and there for any glove is not gonna make a significant difference.

Alpinestars T-GP Plus/ DSG Maze Jacket/ RJays Octane Jacket

Hi guys,
I am looking for a jacket. Have shortlisted the meshed jacket looking at the coming summer. I have the following options -
1 - Alpinestars T-GP Plus - Rs 8500
2 - DSG Maze Jacket - Rs 6000
3 - RJays Octane Jacket - Rs 7600

There is an incremental difference between the pricing. Need your suggestion on the "Alpinestars T-GP Plus". Is it worth paying 2.5 K more over DSG?
I know the brand value is there but has someone actually tried it?

This is OT but still mentioning the importance of Riding Gears.

Crashed my ZMR day before yesterday while returning Home from Office!!!

Learned the importance of Riding Gears hard way.

Face down hit on the Road towards left side.
My Full Face Black LS2 just had a minor scratch and saved me entirely.
My Riding Jacket SHIFT had some impact on chest, belly and left arm but I was Shaken but Not Stirred.

Also learned that CABLES for TV Connection can be real dangerous.

Just started from Office around 07:00 PM and moved a kilometre from where I was supposed to take a Left Turn in a T-Junction.
The disconnected cable was passing thru diagonally which I could not notice.
This happened due to heavy Rains and Storms on Monday & Tuesday.

While taking left my Tires run over them parallel to the Cables and was thrown off in seconds.
Luckily I was around 30Kmph with my Riding Jacket, Helmets & Gloves.

Actually some of my friends do have the A* T-GP Plus. Now A* is a premium brand, yes, you pay for the brand advantage you get. And moreover, all these premium brands you pay for has duty, taxes etc attached to it, plus the profit equation, so yes it's way beyond the jacket's price, in which case nothing can be done, if you want an A* jacket, you need to pay extra. Not only A* any imported jacket has a certain amount of duty to it.

Now DSG's gear are either manufactured in China or Pakistan, for most of the riders I see wear DSG, it's a little cheap and pretty good for the money we pay, even costly at 5k, you can't get jacket less than 5k with good protection and padding.

Now, the Octane has better ventilation than the both DSG and A* jackets, and has a significant edge when it come to ventilation. Me using the Octane, phenomenal ventilation with liner removed.

And with liner on, offers good ventilation on the move, and gets sweaty when you're not on the move, but far far better than the both, and I've seen it hand-in-hand with my buddies using both the both jacket.

Choose the best jacket based upon your need! Suggestions can be confusing sometimes. So it's wise to go by your need.

Tell me how good is the inner liner of RJays during winters/ Rains? Is it 100% waterproof as claimed by the company? & does it offer any protection in winters?
