Is there any difference between knox flex lite and forcefield limb tubes in terms of protection offered and comfort? Im still on hold for knee guard purchase.Also, sunnysideup, when is spartan going to launch knee guards?

Well I cannot comment on forcefield limb tubes as I haven't seen it in person but going by the videos and pics, it seems superior to knox flex lite.

An update on the price I quoted in my earlier post. I jotted it down based on memory. Below is the exact cost based on the e-invoice:

1) DSG Rage Mesh Jacket 5713.33 --> 15% discount = 4856.33
2) KNOX Flex Lite Knee Guard 3333.33 --> 20% discount = 2666.66
3) QUECHUA Rain Cut Jacket 665.71 --> 10% discount = 599.14

They are both completely different, a limb tubes more or less are like, stick with the skin type, like how you wear your sprain brand with the protective stuff. The beauty of it is it's so easy to wear and offers very good practicality. They are easily carryable unlike knee guards which due to their size are a little constrained on space, but these can fit anywhere in a backpack.

Those wanting to go for limb tubes, get them from abroad and elsewhere it's gonna be costly. Either try sourcing it from a friend there or last ditch, purchase yourselves online.

i too have my eyes on this jacket, plz post detailed review with lots of pics, inside out too, and with protectors taken out, i want to see them, mention the thickness of back protector and mention the CE approval markings on protectors etc etc...

The primary difference between limb tubes and plastic bionic guards are that they are worn under the pants while bionic guards ( especially those available in India ) are worn over the pants. This gives them an immediate advantage because they cannot be ripped off in a slide. Another aspect is that limb tubes like those from Forcefield have a high energy absorption ability to take an impact that can protect your knees better than most plastic guards which have little or no energy absorption capacity.

I've been using them for years and personally rate them far superior to any of the plastic bionic guards sold in India. Many in Chennai Xbhp have seen my limb tubes, sourced the same and I'm sure would vouch the same. They're extremely comfortable, can be worn all day easily and are invisible! Nobody will know you're wearing armour. The only minus I can think of is that since they are worn under the pants, they're better suited for a dedicated ride or touring rather than everyday use, since you may find it awkward to remove and put on in the office.

There is another kind of bionic guard though available in the market, which is available abroad, which is basically a leg brace with impact protection built it. These are normally made of exotic materials like carbon fibre and aircraft grade alloys to provide tremendous strength and rigidity to protect the leg, while offering mobility , comfort and yet high degrees of impact absorption.

Ive been wanting to get one myself, but they're normally custom fitted to the individual riders leg and therefore its important to try on the right fit before purchase. Plus they cost a virtual bomb - about US$ 500 per leg! I've seen these used by ADV riders abroad and they seem a worthwhile buy but are not suitable for track use because of their bulk.

As always spot on from Sunny. Yes, they are more oriented towards knee cap rather than shin. That's where knee pads come in offering complete forelimb protection, even the local ones do pretty good offering protection.

You might think now, limb tubes or knee guards, I'd suggest limb tubes if you're pocket is deep and for excellent comfort. If you're leaning towards cheap, affordable protection, knee guards is your guy.

The fit seems good , I got the M size, but i feel the area near the elbows are loose, the armour is in place but even the straps for adjusting is not so good enough for a perfect fit. The glove fits well and snug , will take some time to break it in. Here are the pics.
Will test ride soon in a ride i have planned. My bike as of now is at the SVC with its heart opened. Going through a major surgery.

Thanks mate, the review is in pipeline after putting osme miles on with the jacket. The gloves too. HD photos, might need other help , and now i'm scared, but yes, i took the pics with s3, looks shitty i know, but room lighting conditions where very poor and i just lazily took them.

Yup, i have to agree on this as Knox & Force-field has some really nice range of limb tube guards like Zeus knee guard which seems exceptionally comfy & nice [ Forcefield Body Armour Zeus Knee Protector (LARGE) (BLACK) : Amazon.com : Automotive ] but should we calculate the cost then it's a staggering 6-7k as seen here [http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/...KNEE-PROTECTOR] which ship to India but they also stick around alot & mostly meant to be worn with kelvar jeans with their unique design allowing for exceptionally comfortable & protection while the Cramster's bionic knee guard may not seem comfy or cool but for it's price, i would definitely say they are VFM [http://www.iamabiker.com/ninja/2011/...tector-review/ ]. Ultimately it depends on one's choice but if you desire comfort & protection & got someone coming/going to US/UK then you definitely can't go wrong with these & neither can you go wrong with Cramster's Bionic knee guards if you want a good VFM product & don't want to take the risk of getting the wrong sized/faulty limb tubes

For the most part, limb tubes suit most of them, the sizing differentiation is just as a matter of really odd balls. The same goes with knee guards, even a fatter guy with fat calf a thinner guy tend to go with the same guards. That doesn't mean an XXL guy can fit a S or M, but those are elasticized so one size above isn't going to do any harm. One has to make sure he/she just doesn't go over and above.
