Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Nothing different from both, but you get a little added armor advantage. ODYSSEUS is a pretty large jacket. If you're using it for a daily basis then I'd say no, dedicated for touring, definitely yes.

ICARUS is a budget entry level stuff, try settling in for Rjays Swift or Spartan Helios, and if you can try them personally, that's even more good.

Glad to be of some help. Trying is always the better and I'd always recommend it as a wise practice to follow.

And on weekdays you can go for a small ride to Mumbai and it's hardly 2.5 hours from Pune to Mumbai.

              Cheers!

got it! finalizing on the Spartan Odysseus Pants - but i guess visiting a spartan outlet for trying the correct fit is the best way, instead of ordering it online & then creating a fuss over the right or ill fit! thanks!

The Rjays didn't seem very impressive considering the fact that it's bulky as also the level of armour. The back protector is only foam. In contrast the Spartan Helios offers way better armour and fit. I do not know about the bulk since I didn't get the chance to try it in person in Delhi. But should be lighter than the Swift. I finalised on the DSG Rage since I plan to wear the jacket daily on rides inside the city as well, and getting a good fit, armour and looks as well as keeping the weight low were priorities. So,choose the jacket based on your preferences. The Spartan does offer more goodies though.

RJays by default is bulky, and I definitely agree to it. Spartan on the other hand offers a light weight armor proposition which helps in weight reduction and overall comfort. As you've seen me say if you *like* Rjays then go for it, else I've always suggested the slight upper edge Spartan Helios offers. But all in it's a kick ass package that Spartan offers. Go for the one you suits you the best.

Good decision I would say! Bought it last sat, went on a 700kms ride on sun & apart from added safety, I am 100% sure it was much more comfortable than denim + knee guards.

Even the vents work decently when riding at decent speeds. You will even forget about the knee pads, thanks to knox!

My only other contender for pants was agvsport solare since it is mesh, but it offers lesser protection than cordura of odysseus & also since it isnt available in Blore & ordering online without knowing size? I just let it go.

Will post a short review once I get time.

I still have no idea why Rjays isn't updating its stock and variety. It obviously had received good feedback and reviews from many riders. But now it's getting trumped by other manufacturers. Well, nationalistically speaking, it's great that Indian companies are gearing up really well. But from the consumerist point of view, this is a very sad state of affairs.

RJays since it's an Australian company, the jacket is way overpriced when it comes to other jackets out there. And their Octane jacket's pricing has been upped from 7599 to 8999, and that's 1500 bucks more if I am not wrong. Do you think it was increased by RJays? Nah! It's just demand souped up pricing by Bachoo Motors. In fact even before the 7599 and 8999 their price remained the same in their website. Of course there are lots of factors that come into play, but this is definitely demand souped up pricing.

RJays literally had the crown of being one of the best jackets in India followed by VFM DSG stuff. Now after the entree of so many localized brands and at competitive prices, the segment has heated up significantly and of course this brings in a lot of fake marketers who have their fair share of the pie.

But it's getting better by the day.

                              Cheers!

Hi, you are wrong here, If a DSG or Cramster Jacket can cost 5.5-6.5k then Rjay's Octane & Jet Stream II is VFM according to me, if you will check the quality by your own hand & eye Rjay's outclass any Indian brand without a doubt undoubtedly !!!

The Reason being hike in price of Octane, was Australian Dollar hike compare to INR in 2012... (as per Bachoo) but at 9k Jet Stream II is best buy according to me.

And there is Rjay's swift at 5.5k (~) too... Sometime I want some one to post a pics of Internal Paddings of DSG & Cramster too, And compare it with Rjay's. Nothing to say more. !!!
