Hey guys i am currently at my grandparents' place at kothrud pune. Since i dont have a decent riding jacket i am planning to buy one preferably all weather type. Budget is around 5.5k. I had shortlisted Cramster Breezer 4.0. What are the places here where i can compare between any other jackets in the same price range. Also has there been any history of problems with Breezer 4.0?

I don't think they have a dealer in Chennai, but they do have a couple of dealers in Bangalore.

If you are in Pune you can check out the Planet DSG Shop at MG Road.

Mesh Jackets (like Breezer) are NOT all weather. Even if they might have a removable inner liner, they aren't water proof.

If you are looking for something that cover more seasons, look for something like the DSG Nero (Rs. 6,000, which is a very popular Jacket) or the DSG Phoenix (around Rs. 5,500).

              Forget what the Descriptions state.

The crux is that the Breezer and Nero are totally different types of Jackets. Breezer is a Mesh Jacket and meant for how weather riding. The Nero is an All Weather Jacket and probably the most popular all weather Jacket in India.

                Cramster Breezer jacket :

                The Pics & Review I Posted :

                Cramster Breezer Jacket :

The looks are more like a normal jacket which will help to avoid unnecessary question from cops and others.

The mesh is so good for Air Flow that you wont feel hot even if the Bike is moving on 10-12 kmph in Traffic.

There is a Water Liner which protects from Water to touch your skin but yes you do feel a bit cold because of Water + Air.
You can use the rain liner even if there is no rain.
There is a Thermal Liner also in Cramster Breezer.
But none of them are usable without Jacket, i.e., they are not standalone useable.

In Spartan Jackets, The Rain Liner is top quality and it does not allow the water to give you cold feeling even but you cannot bare the heat if no rain. !
You can use Spartan Rain Liner without jacket also and it looks cool but fries skin if its humidity or hot outside.

The Fitting of Cramster, DSG & Spartan falls in the same category as I've tried the Size M.
All were perfect fit for me.

Make your decision yourself, else later if you don't feel satisfied, then it hurts.

I think you should first make a search on the thread and then come back again . In case if you are not happy with the results do try the advanced search and use proper keywords to reach to the previous reviews, discussions etc. You will definitely find all that very helpful.

                  Warm Regards,

I have friends who use both HELIOS and the Cramster Eclipise and the Breezer. Honestly I think Eclipse is a fantastic all weather jacket coupled with the price tag it has on is and the Breezer following the game. HELIOS is just a few hundred bucks costly. But apart from the armor the shell is more or less same. But it's completely upto one's one discretion and buget allowance.

I am located in Chennai, so the Jacket must have good ventilation during summer and it should also be water resistant to tackle the monsoon season. My commute includes a travel of 30Kms a day (will also be touring atleast once in two months).

After going through the thread I have shortlisted Cramster Breezer 4.0 & Spartan Helios. Please help me out with choosing one. If there are better products available in this price range, please suggest. Thanks..

To put it simple, both have different liners for different purposes, but the Breezer retails in for 5450 the HELIOS upwards for 6300 so it's oddly in around around 1000 bucks difference. But the armor quality is good in HELIOS, not to say that Cramster's isn't, both are good jackets.

If you ask me, I'd say go for the HELIOS, but if you're budget constrained, look nowhere further than Cramster Breezer 4.0 for ventilation purposes.

If you're onto the ORANGE REVOLUTION go for the DSG Rage cheap and best jacket. A no-nonsense jacket just for the splash lovers.

                      Cheers!

Helios also has the option to upgrade back armor to sastec(EU/ce level 2).the upgrade costs 2500inr according to the local dealer here.
Question:most jackets don't come with chest/front protection it seems?or do they have chest pads or some sort of temper foam?

A couple of jackets of KOMINE brand come with chest protection. Their guards are of the same type as in Cramster, but seem to be of better quality. The mesh jacket with chest protectiin are for Rs 7700.00 upwards ( or around that approx). Available in Delhi and Gurgaon

Certain high end brands do offer chest protection, but most jackets out there do come with back protector and foam as standard and upgradable.

                                Hello, all!
Had a crash this last weekend. Helmet saved my ass. Also DSG Revive I was wearing ensured my palms were scarless and less painful. I wasn't wearing a proper armored jacket, resulting in muscles ache for a good 2 days[no broken bones]. All this while in anticipation that SPG would soon open a store here, I postponed the buy. Now after this crash, simply no taking chances. I have decided to start hunting DSG/Cramster now as they are available in the city.
Jackets selected are Breezer 4.0 and Nero. Ready to spend those 500 extra only if Triton/K2k offer better fit. My arms are long, you can say a lill dispropotionate to my upper half of my body. Since the mentioned jackets are longer, will look into them too.
Coming to my question, there's been heavy[ish ]rainfall in HYD for past few weeks. Above mentioned jackets are made of cordura(?). 15 kms of highway commute to college in moderate rains, will the fabric start stinking? Also looking at DSG Maze, it has leather construction over shoulders, cuffs. Will this much of leather result in that unpleasant odour?
PS: How do you protect your waist/hip in a crash? I dont think any of the jacket has that protection? Hyperion has those protectors at kidneys, but this is a distant dream
