Falling on tarmac or asphalt usually comes with its share of abrasion. Do you think that the very thin fabric on that "FOX" body armor will hold any good ? It is just a plain waste of money fro road use mate.

has anyone here bought any of these boots.
KRP is based in Delhi and are good at what they do. Though I have zero idea about the quality of riding gears they are offering. AFAIK PGS is from Pakistan. Which Italian are you referring to ??

Actually Genuine FOX stuff is not yet available in India, so that makes it a fake. And surely you understand that fakes are no good than a cardboard.

If I have to drop an opinion at first sight (using what all this thread has taught me) I will not consider buying this Jacket because it is not meant for commuting purpose, but for STUNT purpose. And that renders it useless for a person who is looking for a protection during his day-to-day life on road.

websites having multiple language options doesn't mean that they are from other countries..
on their websites, all have "about us" page.. check that and you will get an idea of what that company is and where its from..

              • re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread

                hello fellow bikers,
I'm planning to for a decent jacket in the range of 4k to 6k.I have a P200NS and i hail from gurgaon.
My daily commute is any where between 25 to 160 kms and occasional weekend rides of 300kms.
i had gone through the thread and short listed the Zeus and spartan INCARUS.
Now i need some expert guidance, people who have real life experience, and there's no place better than here to seek it.
Though someone did mention about a comparison between the two, i really couldn't find it. My bad. But i did my part of the research.
Now here lies the dilemma, though spartan is cheaper and a total VFM with a larger fan base, i have an inclination towards the zeus as it includes or i would say has an option for hydration bag.
                The similarities.
-Both the jackets have at the impact areas
-both have CE rated protection for elbows and shoulder, though zeus has an additional protection for chest.
-both the jackets have 3M scotchlite and velcrow retention systems.
                The differences
-zeus has a 3M insulate warm liner, which they claim and i also believe is best in class, considering the fact that it's a 3M product.
-Then zeus also offers TECHNICHE heating pack which i think will come really handy in winters.
-the zeus can also accommodate a CE
rated EN 1621-2 i.e. back protection in it.
Now people have used spartan gear and vouch for its quality to be of top notch so i have no doubts in that, but on the other hand no one seems to have reviewed the zeus.
Quality is a major issue in apparels , specially when they are concerning one's safety.
I know people will also suggest me to go for DSG nero or Cramster gear for they have been tested over the years but i have a budget constrain, the more i save here, the more i get to spend on a good pair of gloves.

p.s.- also my inclination towards the zeus because it offers a red variant, which compliments my bike as well as my helmet.
Also as i mentioned earlier i hail from Gurgaon, could someone suggest me a shop where i can have a real life experience of the same.
and are the Scoyco JK17s still available in india? Rawadventures doesn't seem to open.

There's attaining nirvana, and then there's riding.

A short review of Sastec back protector I bought yesterday for my Spartan Hyperion as an upgrade for the original foam based one.

The armour is SasTec SC-1/14 (SAS-TEC Protektoren - Sicherheit aus Schaum: SC-1/14) which is an exact replacement for the original one. There are other variants available to suit different types of jackets, but this should fit Helios as well. EDIT : It fits all Spartan jackets.

                  Some pics below,

                  From rear..

                  From front..

If I am not wrong, this has earned highest CE rating for back protection (source : Revzilla)

This armour is more than 1.5 times thicker than the foam. And as claimed by SasTec, the armour softens when worn (due to body heat) and you wont realize it is even there I had tried it today for Pre ISG2G ride and yes, I would have to give them some points for this. And no matter how much you try to bend it or press it, it finally comes back to original shape (kinda spooky really!). You would be surprised by looking at it if it offers any protection at all but during impact, it absorbs a lot of force while hardening itself, thus distributing the force over a large area. This is the main advantage.

It costs 2500/- and bought it at Lets Gear Up in Bangalore.

I would recommend this for anyone looking for upgrading their back armour & thanks to @Sunnyside_up! sir, I have always wanted to buy SasTec after reading your post (link) about it long time back!

Good move! It's an excellent product and have been using it in my personal jacket for a long time. Incidentally this model, the SC-1/14 will fit all SPG models. This is the reference in the SPG website to level 2 upgrade. Its size and thickness was considered while designing the back armour sheath.

                            Great going there.

Glad to see here Muztariq. And as Krish rightly pointed out, why do you want to use a MOTOCROSS stuff on a street bike? That's one. Secondly, what are just plastic cups gonna do do your skin in total? And this topic is like beating a dead horse which has been discussed numerous times. But my suggestion would be that you refrain going for any apparel recommended for MOTOCROSS. Get yourself a proper riding gear, a textile jacket with proper armor, snug fit.

ZEUS or AOTR doesn't have any widespread networks/dealers that sell this jacket. But I admit for the price and the options as you've mentioned is really a sweet spot. Call them up for more details, they are kind in answering the calls. And get all your doubts clarified before going in for the kill. Especially the right size, nitty-gritty.
