re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
after initial usage there will be some marks on the areas which grip the handlebar and clutch / brake lever, but these will be like rubbing marks, and not peeling. make sure it is rubbing mark or whether peeling....Originally posted by Sandeep Patnala View Post....
i noticed leather layer is peeling off at some portions.
i have recently purchased a Rynox tank bag so judging by that product quality, i guess rynox products are pretty good quality.
talk to the seller...

Its been 1 week since i purchased these and around 300Kms , i noticed leather layer is peeling off at some portions. Want to know if this is normal on leather gloves !
I think it's just some protective coating that's coming off, and I think it's normal. Because if you see, the leather is so shiny to keep it water-resistant and who knows what they've applied it on top for that shiny gloss. I think it's wearing off and the true leather is becoming apparent, and I don't sense anything alarming as such, unless there is a stitch problem or leather itself giving up, but I think this is just some polish or some dye that's coming off. Not to worry.
Cheers!

I guess that was due to applying of more pressure in those areas the glossy finish layer was coming off. I have talked to Rynox people and they asked me to send the product back for exchange and i have done it today. Waiting for new gloves and i hope it doesn't happen with them this way.Rides : Yamaha Gladiator RS ( 2009 - Present )

Dude.. the Gloves and Gloves are most likely sourced/imported from different sources.
Pakistan is a very good source for getting riding gear and China for sourcing luggage.

yes, i agree that pakistan and china are major export hubs for riding gears, but couldn't establish a connection between my quoted post and your post....Originally posted by payeng View PostDude.. the Gloves and Gloves are most likely sourced/imported from different sources.

Not a problem, but here is my side of the SCOYCO glove, cut the finger extensions, gel paddings all around the glove, for full fledged use in cycling. And have been using them both on my bike and motorcycle.Originally posted by xpranav View PostActually I asked so because even my Scoyco MC08 (550/- INR) has synthetic leather at the palm and at the impact areas of the thumb with an inside thin foam padding
Just guess for how long it's been used! 4 years, solid. Raped almost every single day, and yes that's the same material on the palm, erstwhile. I didn't cut my thumb extension, but you can see my finger it popping up, because it's got a rip, after repeated thinning of the material. But still love this and for some insane reason, I never thought of updating these gloves. Lucky gloves, hell yeah!
Cheers!
