+1 to that. I use the same knee guards but every time before I get on the road I curse myself for not getting something better. These are just cheap plastic imitation and though they might have saved many of us on several occasions, there are an equal share of people who faced the wrath of the riding gods for testing their luck

Those are called bionic elbow/knee guatds & I would have said yes to them too, had they not luk suspicious like those near identical chinese knock offs that has flooded the market & ebay these days. On other hand, if you have some more cash to spare then i recommend these

SPG PERSEUS Knee Guards at 2.5k

These can be worn under the pants & come with knox armour while other option is knox flex lite knee guards.

You can also check out Cramster knee guards that are also VFM but strangely i cant find their bionic knee guards

PS - if i am not wrong, arent those fox elbow/knee guards for motocross right & not motorbike purposes

AFAIK the cramster ones are CE grade and not CE approved, IMO the cramster ones are the same as the fake axo/fox ones (a little better) this is my personal opinion though, having used these.
aditya_iyer last time I contacted cramster they said the bionic knee guards weren't available any more but they plan to come up with something new

Personally I would spend my money on the knox one's mentioned by chaosaddict but again at that price, one could consider buying dedicated riding pants too

P.S have a look at the thor quadrant knee guards sold by SPG, they seem to be good at a lower price. For something VFM go for the SPG Perseus

Yup, i noticed that on their website plus i think there are plenty of avg/bad reviews to prove that Cramster knee guards are avg in quality however at 1.4k, they are also almost the cheapest knee guards that i have seen for sometime. Had it not been for the slight price hike, SPG Perseus is definitely the VFM champion other than Knox flex lite guards but just wish that Cramster do something like SPG & release some quality VFM products

Photos won't help you bro. The best is to try them before buying. The next best thing would be this:

Does the spg Perseus cover the shin? Me think not..there is no good alternative at this price that covers both shin and knee.

Well, i dont own SPG perseus but own the forcefield limb tubes that are identical to them. So, in a way they do extend over the shin & will absorb the damage than those flimsy plastic armour yet be surprisingly comfy & flexible. The only downside is that they are designed to protect from frontside & the ankle portion can be protected with the help of a gud pair of riding boots with ankle protection which in normal street condition, more or less prove effective therefore at the stated price point, they are much effective. Besides some protection always better than no protection at all

The perseus does cover the upper shins. I have been using them and they are quite good especially when worn with A* Smx 5 boots. But if you dont have a boot that covers your calf and lower shins, I'd suggest something better than perseus.

Guys need suggestions in buying riding gloves. Have returned back my Rynox Kombat gloves. So far i have used DSG AQUA, Alpine Stars SMX-2 Limited Edition, Rynox Kombat Gloves and not looking into the same gloves again and i have 1) Rynox Rampage 2) Spartan Centaur in mind, and came to know from Rynox guys that they are going to launch new Kombat gloves with improved quality soon.

So i need your valuable suggestions here in choosing my 4th pair of riding gloves.

If you are looking for gloves for normal city/semi touring use, go ahead with Centaur. I have clocked a little over 5k kms till now and I am very satisfied. For hardcore touring I guess the Spartan Ares is a better bet.

Also have a look at the new rs taichi mesh gloves bought down by SPG read some good reviews about them a while back
