A good question, but a good balaclava does have many property which a fake one for the same price wont offer.
The softness of the cloth, the ability to absorb sweat and not transfer it to the helmet, and it should not give any rashes onto the skin, should not be suffocating type once worn. Considering a such options it is better to get a branded one like spartan(250-300) rather than some knock off stuff at the same rate.

I use the spartan balaclava and would recommend it, it is very soft on the skin, can be worn without problems for long rides, the sweat is absorbed nicely and keeps the helmet from having that "used" smell

I don't feel comfortable wearing one while riding, so never used them but recently picked up one from commercial street for a buddy. It was reasonably thick, but a perfect fit under his helmet and warm. The quoted price was 300. We bargained and got it for 200 bucks. It was an unbranded one.

No offences brother but that is of 200 bucks only, he tried to cheat but luckily you all got at 200.

I really think I should. There seems to be a war going on at the helmets thread over the Axor!

About that then yes, new Vega AXOR is worth single penny. My bikerni friend is using it and I have tested it for 250kms on highways and I am telling you its too good. Not making hype, but it has controlled noise control, easily fitable and doesnt oves on head too much. Even visor quality is good.

In helmet thread most of the negative feedbacks are just because of bad experiences. But the new one is good and would say better than LS2 atleast.

If you can't find a dealer, contact them directly, they are kind enough to help you get through the job and provide all after market assistance.

What difference does it make? Branded, Unbranded or Fake branded, at the end of the day, it's just an undergarment, meant to be worn under the helmet. I'd take the originality seriously if it had some exposure to the elements, but a balaclava isn't exposed to any of the elements, doesn't face a risk of abrasion. All it does is keep you warm and absorb sweat. Can someone tell me why not to opt for a Rs.200 balaclava?

Food for thought? Tell you what, when I first purchased a helmet, I spent 300 bucks for a balaclava from the same dealer. True these days, brands are so intertwined and with so many brands out there, with each their own price tag and material combination, it's real hard to judge what's what.

The first balaclava which I bought is being used to clean by laptop, to this day, which more or less depicts the story of what quality it had. Going by the looks of it, online or elsewhere one can easily be dodged. The best way is to know any person who's worn a good stuff and check them in person and check the quality with the stuff you have on hand, that way you can know what's best and worst.

Costly doesn't mean it's worth it, and cheap doesn't mean it's any good . The balance is very VERY thin line.

Nowadays knock off manufactures bring in the brand value through pricing, which adds oomph to crap products, which the manufacturer clearly knows. This is basically piggybacking on someone for someone else's profit.

But again, this is why I suggest to see stuff in person, if one isn't sure on what he/she is purchasing or search for reviews on the web.

Ok guys help me out on this one. I'm confused between the cramster flux and rynox rampage.
Both of them have got good reviews.The flux has an upper hand being a leather glove and there is a cramster dealer in pune where as there is no rynox dealer in pune.
But today i got to know that a rynox dealership will be opening in pune after about two weeks. So should i go for the flux or wait for the rampage (i hate waiting though ).
Plz help.

I use Rampage and its a really good city riding gloves. It is really comfortable and has loads of ventilation with ample protection.

I had the same problem and only rynox gloves were available here and I didn't wanted to buy with checking the sizes physically.

Yeah even i like rampage but currently there is no rynox dealer here in pune. I was told by a fellow xbhpian that they are planning to start a dealership here may be after 2 weeks. So it'll take time, that's why i considered the cramster flux also.

Outdoor travel gear sells both cramster and rynox stuff. However the last time I checked(been a month now) rampage was not in stock.
Where is the rynox dealership opening btw?

Lets see if the info i got is true or not. Any how will check out OTG for the gloves.

EDIT: I just checked the outdoor travel gear website and it is said that their pune store is closed down and they are moving to a new location soon.
May be it is their new store that is also going to be the rynox dealership in KP.

I think I did a mistake...
AH Helmets, oshiwara, jogeshwari.
I got a pair of knee guards for 1.5k. It was A*, well a first copy of that. The guy in the store himself told me.
I had went for a fox raptor, as it wasn't there, I got this one. Without researching a bit I went ahead and bought it. It was a* reflex. I reached home and started searching for the same and saw that it is worth ~$28. Rs.1.8k. For the original. The knee guard itself is decent. Fits to my leg good. And is a strong and hard.
Am I been cheated here ??? He said "Harley wale ko to hum ye A* original bolke 3.5k me bechte hai"!!!
He did have rynox stealth jackets and Kevlar gloves...but I'm a bit reluctant and paranoid in buying from him...
What do I do ???
I need a good touring gloves that goes above my wrist and all season. Jacket... :-(

Well to tell the truth, A* does not have a raptor knee guard. The cheapest knee guard of A* is vapor retailing at around 3.5K INR. As for the dealer, to have peace of mind go to an authorized dealer of a merchandise. The outlet may charge a premium, but you will not be having second thoughts about the quality of the product.
