1. For sizing you could refer the below link, almost all jackets are sized by that standard:

2. Only thermal liner is detachable.

3. The eclipse IMO should be having better abrasion resistance due to the cordura and grain leather build, while the Helios has the knox armour advantage.

Also if you live in a hot region and if you don't follow ATGATT very strictly, you shall atleast end up wearing the Helios more often due to its mesh build, while the oven nature of the eclipse may act as a hindrance.

P.S: I take it that your helmet took some damage during the fall, hence would also suggest that you get yourself a new lid

& then just half hour ago I met an accident, the pullover & shirt I was wearing are torn & I've injured my shoulder
Jeans has got a big hole right knee completely scraped, ProBiker gloves did their best to save my palms but now they are finished
& special thanks to my Studds Scorpion, it saved me from that deadly bruises & serious injuries when my head hit those railings
So the priority list has all been shuffled, & now the first thing to do is to buy a good jacket, a pair of leather gloves & some good knee gaurds but have some queries.

Hope you recover from the injury fast and well.

And about sizing, it is of paramount importance, so , I would say refer a proper chart, for Spartan jackets, the charts are same as that of Rjays, search google for Rjays sizing chart and choose the size likewise.

Eclipse has fully detachable liners , search for reviews here in this forum using the search option.

Helios is definitely having more thoughtful features and better armor , since your current predicament, i guess proper and better armor does have more precedence. So i'd certainly suggest Spartan.

Jitu Badlani sad to hear about you accident, recover soon. The Eclipse is a great VFM jacket due to the presence of leather. However the Helios scores on practicality like separate rain liner, removable & washable collar. Once you remove the liner the jacket behaves like a tee-shirt. As your main concern is safety the knox armours will efficiently do the job. For other options you can look at Cramster Breezer & DSG Nero. Take care & ride safe.

The Pursuit

The pursuit of choosing a good quality Motorcycle Glove was started a few month back, to offer subtle protection from cold and on road hazard. Budget was set at Rs. 3500/-. I was pretty sure that I want a leather gauntlet as I love the feel of leather and at the same time offering the best available protection. So after a pretty long search for around a month, rounded up my options as Cramster TRG2, Rynox Kombat(Semi Gauntlet) and DSG Primal. Somewhere during this process, I was told by a local friend and fellow rider that DSG’s are far better than Cramster and other brands. Then I tossed the question to B7ACKTHORN, fellow xbhpian and Moderator and a good friend via xbhp. After a few PM’s he advised me to go for any one of the above mentioned gloves, as all of them are competent enough and has their own share of problems which arises every then and now.

The Choices

I now headed for trying the above mentioned 3 out in my town. To be honest, none of the shop in my city keeps a ready stock for any of the above mentioned gloves (AHMEDABAD IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO BUY GEAR). So I was left with nothing but a blind buy by calling up the respective manufacturers. Following the events, I even dropped the idea for about a week. Finally, one fine day I started calling up the manufacturers and in between was introduced to Spartan Gears and Zeus Gears by Google. The responses from the respective manufacturers are as follows:

NOTE: I tried asking every manufacture the same question about how their product offers better comfort and protection, compared to similar products in market? My question may seem lame as this is my first standard motorcycle glove purchase. Also, to get more details about the products, please contact the respective manufacturer and/or view their site.

1. Cramster

www.cramster.in

Once offered at the Royal Enfield showrooms. The eldest player in Indian Motorcycling gear industry. Cramster’s TRG2 is an eye candy, I guess everyone, who has seen them in pictures will agree. The glove which I intended to buy was this one. So as soon as I called up the Cramster Bangalore, some guy who didn’t even bother to tell me his name nor asking mine picked up the call and asked:

Cramster: What do you want?
I: I replied with my name and said, I want to know about TRG2 Glove and how it compares with other similar products.
Cramster: Mail us. Then he cuts the line without even properly dismissing the conversation.

I was like, what the heck???!!! It should never be Cramster!!! Cramster was ruled out. Now I call it “CRAPSTER”.

2. PlanetDSG (Referred to as DSG)
www.planetdsg.com

Just like the TRG2, The Primal is also a great looking glove. Sporty feel oozes out of the pictures of Primal. With hopes of buying this one, I called them up:

DSG: Hello, this is Vivek, what do you want?
I: I replied with my name and told him that “I am interested in DSG Primal and would like to know more about it. Also, if you can tell me how it fares against its competitors?”
DSG: I can speak for my product only; if you want more details on Primal then you can check the website. The Primal is not in stock and can’t tell you when it will be available.
I: Ok, then is there any other option available for me?
DSG: Carbon is there. It’s without ventilation. Please check the site for the same. Anything else you want?
I: Do you have all the sizes in Carbon?
DSG: Check the website and decide the size and then call for the enquiry.
I: Ok, Thanks for the info and time. Have a Good Day ahead!!!
DSG: Ok. Then he cuts the Line.

After the above conversation, I thought that DSG Primal can be bought, but looking at the response from the seller, definitely it’s not the first choice. Moreover, it’s not in stock. So I had to rule it out.

3. Spartan Pro Gear
www.spartanprogear.com

Many folks vouch for their quality and many say that they offer not so good products. They have something called ARES, which looks good by the looks of it. It even features outside stitching. First look at their gloves section and you will be forced to think that you really don’t want their products such is the presentation of pictures, but on the recommendation from fellow riders and xbhpians, tried calling them. Unfortunately, I got the same reply as “CRAPSTER”. So, not much to say here.

4. Rynox Gears
www.rynoxgears.com

A relatively new name in the scene of Indian motorcycle gear. One look at their products online, you will instantly recognize a great workmanship goes into their products. They definitely sell one of the best tailored products out there. If that is not enough, they have semi gauntlet offering called “Kombat”, in their line up.

After picking up the call Shameen introduced him and asked me how he would be able to help me? I replied that I need full gauntlet riding gloves. He told me that Rynox doesn’t have a full gauntlet as of now. They do have one semi gauntlet glove called “Kombat”. He explained me that DSG Gloves are also good. They have been in the scene since quite a time now and have been continuously offering great gear to their customers. Now coming to the Kombat, we placed this glove in the market, where no one else is offering something similar, as far as Indian Brands are concerned. He then explained me a bit about the Kombat and the materials used in it. He also told me that Kombat has been developed on demands of fellow biking chums, who are unable to tuck their jackets under the gauntlet.

Shameen was kind enough to let me know that they are launching a Full Gauntlet gloves ahead of IBW 2014 and wait for the same if I could.

Unfortunately, till date they don’t have it in stock. Probably my timing is bad. I’ve personally checked and tried the Kombat at my local reseller and they feel great, but yet again, he only has the XL size available, where as I am L and/or M. I can any given day vouch for Rynox gears. They offer very finely crafted products backed with a very nice support team. Go for it whenever possible.

5. ZEUS Motorcycle Gear
www.zeusgear.in

Again, a new name in the scene of Indian Motorcycle Gear. It’s a start-up by On the Rocks adventure store, Hyderabad. I came to know about them by google. They have a nice lineup of gloves to suit your needs, even closeouts. You will be taken away by the presentation of their products, but I must say, their site is badly optimized.

Ritesh picked up the call and asked me about my requirements. As he was about to start telling me about Highway Riders, someone came to his store, so he apologized for the same and kindly asked me if he can ring me back within 10 mins? I said take your time, bye and cut the line. I thought he would again be someone like CRAPSTER. But to my surprise, I got a call after 6 or 7 mins from him. He remembered my query was regarding the Highway Riders. He then explained me about the features of these gloves. Told me that Full Grain Cowhide Leather has been used in construction of these gloves and they can be worn on racetracks too. He later also revealed that he, himself has designed the gloves and other offerings from ZEUS. Ritesh was kind enough to tell me about the quality testing procedure they follow, where they, themselves use these products and try to beat them down to their demise and if found clear then only they put it on sale.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Zeus looks good. I will be investing in couple of riding jackets within a few months, will definitely try Zeus, especially their touring jacket. Wish they had better leather jackets though.

Change the helmet too, once involved in a crash, the helmet will lose it's structural integrity, even when no apparent damage might be there on looking at the helmet, it will just feel the same but is not the same.
the thing is the helmet is supposed to absorb the impact and weakens itself in doing so, it has done its job in your case, now it's time to move on. Get a new better helmet.

Got your point very clearly but right now the priority is for a Jacket & Gloves, buying a new Helmet with them will come as a complete shock to my pocket. So a new helmet will be bought after 2 months till then I will ride safely with present one, thanks.

Agreed, they have terrible selections and worse knowledge at the local dealers here. Fakes also rule the day. Rather than calling, did you also try emailing?

My experience with SPG has always been very good. Also availed of warranty on gloves which was promptly dealt with, so that's a plus point in my books. They are, however, slow to respond to emails at times.

Yes, a friend of mine had visited,
he said that the most basic entry level jackets were priced at 18k or so, leathers and textile jackets will be even more.
About boots , they do have them available there, but prices were not known at that time or so, it seems they are jump setting up the shop to a fully functional level, I intend to visit them within a week , so the prices and most stocks should be available then.

Part 2

The Moment

After the previously mentioned experiences and analysis I decided to go with ZEUS because of multiple reasons. First, I’ve had planned a solo Photog trip in January. Second, weather was getting colder and colder day by day and hands were falling completely numb during morning commute and night. Three, Rynox Kombat was out of stock and due to some problems; even at IBW Rynox guys were only able to launch the prototype, not a fully finished production model. Fourth and last reason being, It was a long pending decision to spare some money on glove, so now when I am able to afford one and need too, why not? Called up Ritesh again and after a brief discussion on sizing dilemma ordered a fully Black one in size L. Ritesh was good enough to let me know that he has shipped the gloves the very same day.

I received the package after a day, but to my surprise it was damaged and on on visual inspection found that the Left hander glove had opened stitches between the index finger and the middle finger. So, I gave a call to Ritesh, reported the same to him. He told me to send that pair back and he will soon send a new pair and meanwhile to mail the pics of damaged goods. I did exactly as instructed. I received the new pair the very next week. One thing I would like to mention about Ritesh is that he is always so content and calm and he always reverts back. He is a nice person to interact.

The Experience

First Look
A glance at the ZEUS Highway Rider Gloves will satisfy you that it’s a quality product as "IT'S ALL LEATHER, NO FABRIC". A strong and pleasant Leather smell was present on the gloves, another sign of good quality of leather. The feel was supple, out of the package. And the pre – curved fingers construction was evident and done in a very good manner with good arch kind of identical shape in both the gloves. I was expecting the ventilation inlets to be crappy, but they are of very good quality. The Knuckle protection also has ventilation inlets. The structure altogether is kept well and classy with very neat stitching.

Protection
The upper part of the glove has a big, fixed type knuckle protector with rubber inlets underneath for the comfort as well as impact protection. The Fingers and thumb got the faux CF protectors mounted on an additional Leather Layer except for the pinky finger, which has got 3 layers of leather as abrasion and impact protection. The prime area of impact and abrasion on the palm is layered with Kevlar Layer. The Kevlar is sandwiched between a dense rubbed padding which covered by the exterior leather layer and another Leather Layer as underlay. This padding extend up to the side of the palm and finishes near to the pinky finger. A large area of palm also has silicon droplets on buffed leather for better grip and feedback. The wrist protection is almost the same as the palm protection except for the missing Kevlar Layer.

Size and Fitment
Double sided Velcro on the forearm with wrist fastening Velcro results in a very good fit at the wrist, with a little space for wrist movement which results in extremely comfortable actions via wrist. The inside of the glove is pretty warm and is entirely covered with fleece layering resulting in a very comfortable fit and helps with the sweating part. The fit is amazingly good and tell you what; you need not to break these in. One ride is all they need to take up the shape of your hand and to act as your skin. At last I would like to say that I am happy for this purchase for now, lets see how many miles it will accompany me.

This concludes my review for ZEUS Highway Rider Gloves. I hope you will find it useful, if yes, then please leave a comment. If I've missed anything, feel free to report.

Thank You All!

No reply buddy. Hence ruled it out.
