Spartan helios mate... 6.8k and worth every penny, and with knox armour too!Originally posted by abhiiceman View Postbest riding jacket within 8k for a friend?...
Or if your friend can dish out 2k more, then go for the Spartan Hyperion..
If you want another set of options, try looking at DSG's.. Theyve released a new jacket.. Even R-jays are good..

I have not seen Zeus products. Therefore do not want to mention anything further about them. You can find all information about them if you search the thread..Originally posted by abhiiceman View Postthen what about zeus all terrain jacket? as it seems to have more features... btw is their any shop similar to lets gear up?
Biking spirits is similar to lets gear up.. Their shops' on the end of st.marks road. Behind the Triumph showroom [ same building]
Otherwise, there is Megha enterprises on J.C road. Not like lets gear up, but are proper suppliers of spartan gear.
Bought mine from there, good fellow.. Friendly and fair priced compared to the idiots around just wanting profits...

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
someone asked about regular back piece coming in jackets.this is what's there on the apg Helios.says CE but I'm remember spg themselves say its not rated.upgrades are available officially by them anyway.
@above, nice that you found ones with palm sliders.
still no official statement by spg on the new shorter boot?๔ยкє ҭђгєє ภเภєҭұ เภ ๓ұ שєเภร

7K and you get full leather, super fabric at all external joints, TPU knuckles, Kevlar stitching, Full kangaroo palm (the tactile feel is amazing. I can finally pick coins out of my chest shirt pocket :P Almost feels like skin), KNOX sliders on palms as you pointed out !
Hope they last long too and not be tested !

Hmm, may be this back protector is a generic copy of some certified back protector.Originally posted by senotrius View Post

From what I could find on the net :
The terms engraved on the protector mean this :
Certificate No:
1986 (issue2) Extension 3
Protector Type -CI-B. Type-B
Article NO. CI-B-31121975
prEN 1621-3/2002
CE
Turns out prEN 1621 -3 is chest protector standard
pr means it's still in draft stage(was in 2010, but should be a final standard now)
This doc also lists this as a cehst protection standard and is circa 2010
I am not digging any deeper now, have work in office, may be later.
I could not find who holds the certificate no 1986, but I based my conclusions on info from these links
how to verify CE certification - ADVrider
The dudes here have actually communicated with SATRA (a organisation which tests the armors and gives CE certificates in UK) to find out if velocity gears sell genuine stuff. The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Is this true? I did not find any mention of armor upgrades on their website, and I remember Sunny replying that the armors come built in the jacket and are not sold separately?Originally posted by senotrius View Postupgrades are available officially by them anyway.

I usually spend about a half hour there every time never once shooed away :/.Originally posted by danielmanickarajHad a bad experience wit spg at ecr chennai today.. I was interested to buy spg helios riding jacket. So went to the outlet wit 3 of my frnds. And asked the sales person to show helios. He said there is no stock available. My main purpse of the visit is to wear and check how the fit is. But the people in showrom was not helpful at al. They were simply tryi to get rid of me off the shop.
I cudnt understand how come there is not even a single jacket for my size for havin a trial.
Aftr so much googling and zeroised my selection to spg helios. Jus bcos of this exp i need to go for some other brand.
