re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I just picked up the Cramster Back Protector yesterday and did a small ride of 70kms with the back protector on. It's CE Level 2 and cost me 3200
I wore it under the jacket with the foam piece still on the jacket. It does look like a lil hunch back :P But I'm okay looking like one as long as it does its job! The guy at the store told me that few of the guys who purchased it mentioned they had no or very little back pain on longer rides. I am yet to notice that myself but I think for up right postures where there is a lot of wind blast, with the protector, a lot of fatigue can be avoided. It gives a decent support on your core as well.08 RTR160

Can you post some pics? But i don't like to complicate by wearing separate protection and also maintaining it. Also problem of losing it somewhere is also there when its separate :/Originally posted by arjunrtr2625 View PostI just picked up the Cramster Back Protector yesterday and did a small ride of 70kms with the back protector on. re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hi everyone..does anyone know about any riding overpants?almost all riding pants online and in shops seems to be the kind worn as it us..of course i can go for a bigger size and wear it over my jeans or pants, but the difficulty in getting in and out of it in the office made me think about looking for a riding overpants instead, since its already designed to be worn on top of usual pants,it will be much more of an easy task to wear and remove it i guess..the kind with side zippers.i could only find an icon overpants online.but its cost was a little high at 13000..does anyone know any options below 8000?thanks in advance

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Went to AH helmets at jogeshwari, mumbai.
Asked for Spartan (3000 rs), rynox (3800 rs) and alpinestars (4200 rs) and he showed me some gloves of these brands.and damn those gloves were like, it has been used nominally and there were some wear and tear.
Upon checking the gloves it felt like they are copy, I maybe wrong here.
Can someone please suggest some decent folks who sell genuine riding gear and just dont fool the customers who are noob like me.
Dont want to go online as I cannot check the fitting and stuff. Hence suggest some stores in mumbai. Please.
Cheers,
Sanjay

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Ever since I tried on the DSG EVO, I loved the quality and VFM. It is, for all intents are purposes, a Tourmaster Air Intake 3 with a few negligible changes. (Mainly storage) I would even go so far as to say that they’re both made at the same factory with just brand names stuck on later. This makes complete economic sense too. Anyways, they didn't have my size anywhere. (Tried Orion and Let's Gear Up) Now, after a month's wait, they are back in stock at Orion Yamaha opp Forum in Bangalore.
I'm 5'8, 76kg, overall well built with a stubborn paunch. (Aren't we all? lol) and a size M fits me perfectly with both the liners installed. It's comfortable but not loose, without the liners. There are strategically placed velcro and snap pull straps to further modify the fit at the waist, biceps, forearms, wrists and back. I leave the biceps at the biggest size just to massage my ego. You must do this too. This jacket has a short front and long back so that posture is comfortable and you won’t flash your undies in a hurry when crouching. Also, your lower back is protected. Both are equally important!
The entire jacket is built to very high standards and feels sturdy. All black with black logos, multiple reflective piping (Grey and White) on the arms, chest and back ensure good visibility at night. This jacket is not loud. But you wont be left wanting for visibility. The zippers are YKK and the two front pockets have water-resistant inners. Not waterproof per se because they're closed by zippers and moisture may find its way in. 600D cordura is used liberally for strength and resistance. The region outside the armor areas has reinforced 600D with padding for additional protection.
There is a zipper provided at the back to attach riding pants. You get a half that needs to be stitched on to the pants.
The collar and cuffs have comfortable liners to prevent skin chafing. The jacket is comfortable to wear over a tee without the liners. Does not feel like you have an itchy scratchy gunny bag on you.
CE rated armor does the job at the shoulders and elbows. The back protector needs upgrading as this will simply provide zero impact protection and minimal scrape resistance (if any) till it’s worn out in a slide. I have a high quality, thick yoga mat who will sacrifice itself to do duty as a makeshift slide protector till the real deal arrives. Again, this will not improve impact protection, but in a slide, you won’t lose your skin faster and the mat will offer some amount of cushion. (Strictly at city speeds)
The thermal liner has a small mobile pocket added. The biggest phone that will fit this is a Galaxy S2 (4.3").
The liners themselves are of good quality and the resistant liner should work as intended to keep the rain out. The thermal liner will have a tough job since this is a mesh jacket whose primary objective in life is good airflow. Keeping the wind-chill factor in check will require layering and the thermal liner should only be considered as one of those layers in really cold regions. It cannot function independently in keeping you seriously warm in anything lower than 15 degrees or so. Remember, wind-chill factor is what gets you.
If anybody is wondering, the liners cannot be worn without the jacket as they look ridiculous! Sorta like a chopshop Kimono.
Last but not the least, for those of us who like to maintain a stealthy, low profile image, without a bunch of prints and what not; while still retaining a good degree of visibility, you cannot go wrong with the EVO. I ride an all-black duke with deleted decals. The wheels have high reflectivity rim tapes and that's all. This jacket and that duke is a pair made in heaven.
Will post pics, detailed ride reviews etc. in a few days. Meanwhile feel free to ask any specific questions you need answers to.
Price Paid: Rs.4999 All Inclusive.
Oh and YMMV. All my views.

These Cramster Twister gloves seems to be made up of a low quality leather which stains your hands with bluish color dye(According to a review online). Better check out Rynox.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostEntry level riding gloves start from rs.1600 from cramster and rs. 1700 by rynox. Check both their websites for more.
