Bought it for Rs.7100. Is it a fair price?

Yeah I went through that thread. The con i see is - Waterproof capability is not upto mark.
So was looking for any Zeus Tornado X-1 feedbacks? As the price difference is just Rs200/-.
As per specification of Zeus, that looks good. But you know reality might not be the same.

Solace seems fine to me, but have you tried Let's Gear Up's Track Breed Shoes, they also come in your budget, but not sure if they are available now, there are 2 of them, one is a full length boots and the other one is ankle length, both are reasonably priced, check out the link below. Better you call them to confirm if they have the stock.

I own both pairs of the TBG boots and TBH I found the Solace Threshold boots very similar. I didn't know this at the time of purchase since there are hardly any pictures of the TBG boots online. If I had known, I'd have picked up the Solace ones instead. Could pick up a decent pair of gloves with the price difference too!

But am still amazed, why there are no inputs on Zeus?!

Yes, I've been using Zeus All Terrain since almost a year now.

I did an on-road test (both heat/humidity and rains) last summer.

Does a very good job. I also had a crash recently, where I rammed into a tree at considerable speed, elbow first, rib next and survived with just a bruise on elbow.
Thanks to level1 armors in jacket and my boots. Pretty sure I got saved from a major fractures. Crash was big and bike is lying in SVC for last 22 days.
What I love about them, are that the armors are right in place and this is my 3rd motorcycle jacket but the only one that fits best.

If you are looking for more mesh ventilation, checkout Zeus Arion mesh jackets once.
I recommend you to go and try them personally.
Hey which boot you are usiing??

                        I have an odd query

I was looking to buy an Alpinestar jacket, but found out that the model I was looking at comes with 450D fabric and CE rated armours.

Now at fraction of its price Indian brands offer 600D fabric, Knox/Sastec armours.

So keeping this in mind does it make sense to spend so much just for the brand name? Or is there something that I'm missing?

                          This is what I feel.
                          1) Yes you re indeed paying a bit more for the brand name, which it has attained after a lot of marketing spends- To be a part of MotoGP and have some well-known personalities is going to come at a cost, which eventually they have to recover through the product they sell and thus is included in the MRP.

                          2) The brand today is not directly sold by alpinestar (parent company). It has distributors, which then supplies to the dealer and then we get it, unlike home brands where the brand directly sells it through their website or by a dealer, thus almost skipping a level in the supply chain. At every level there are going to be margins added which again are included in the MRP.

There are a few more points than only the ones mentioned above for the heavy prices we pay for some international brands.

(This is a bit away from the question, but still related)

Frankly, these brands back then were loved by their home country and then were pushed across borders. We Indians, have this affinity towards foreign brands, which I understand is more or less only for the name, as I think almost equivalent products are available by Indian brands.

Rather, we should be using reputed Indian brands more in India (with one of the highest population, India is a huge market) and proliferating them to reach international markets. While I mention Indian brands I do not mean those traders who come up with a product (Jacket/ luggages/etc) put their own label and sell it as a brand. I mean brands which genuinely work towards making innovative products, provide quality reasonable for the price you pay and good service. Develop new ideas and technologies to make their products better, brands who do testing with multiple prototypes, etc.

                          Hope it helped.

You're right, and if you look at just safety point of view, the Indian brands like Rynox, TBG, Solace, etc are giving a hugely better deal than international brand.
I almost bought an Alpinestar jacket for 30k but a Rynox jacket selling at 8k had better armours.
So no point shelling out money for just the brand name.
I really hope good Indian brands grow and are able to develop even better gear. I'd rather shell out more money for them.

                                Hey guys,

Need help with SAS Tec armor fitting. I have an Alpinestars TGP Plus Codura jacket. If I buy the SAS Tec armor - elbow, shoulder and back protector from Solace, can it fit in the A Star jacket perfectly without issues?
