Wear a sock, put plastic bag over it, wear another sock on top of that. Repeat for other foot, wear whatever shoe you want

I take help from another person just for precaution, don't want to take any undue risks. Although some people do it alone but I recommend taking help of another person whether it's a spool or non spool paddock stand.

        Hi,

i am looking for some armour (shoulder & elbow to be precise). Without the jacket.

Can anybody advise me on how to go about it?

I tried hunting for them online and offline nobody sells them without the jacket, or maybe i am not looking for it in the right places.

        Would appreciate your help

Check out this bloke's home made CE rated armour http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...-rs-950-a.html

you can go for Scoyco armours, I have been using the knee guard only and I am pretty satisfied with it.

CE rated armours will set you back by 3-4K, and you can buy decent jackets in that price range and jacket offers more protection than individual armours.

            1. SPG atlas
            2. cramster breezer etc etc.

            Choose wisely.

            Cheers,
            Sanjay

Thanks for the information, will definitely check these out.

My intention is to retain my leather jacket that has accompanied me for the last 6 years and is still going strong, but with a few updates like a slot for the headphones to stick through and some armour on the shoulder and elbow areas.

Will definitely revert with a detailed write up if i manage to find the right Armour and tailor .

Otherwise will have to buy a Rynox or Aspida and strip them of their armour to do a transplant. (Not really a practical approach and looking at this as the ultimate final resort)

No touring or race track use. I have been using cr*ppy pro bikers since last 4 years/8000kms so i am expecting new pair to last atleast 2 years/20,000kms.

My Requirements: Long lasting (2 years/20,000kms atleast), Safety, Inexpensive

                Options considered so far:

cramster flux and twister: I have a personal dislike for cramster due to lack of warranty and quality issues.

rynox rampage: Looks good, but reviews say the leather is too thin to provide any good protection

                solace sprint: Out of stock

DSG Motomesh: Not interested in these full textile gloves.

Please suggest something that suits my needs and budget

ps: Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched a lot but couldn't find anything that suits my needs
                Hi,

Definitely, you will get a motorcycle riding gloves in this range. I brought a Oxford RP-5 Gloves in a summer. It is a constructed from aniline leather with synthetic overlays with gel padding that provides maximum me comfort. It is especially made for long rides and off- road touring.

I suggest you few references from where you definitely get your choice.

                Men's Motorcycle Gloves | Harley-Davidson USA
Motorcycle Gloves in India | High Note Performance
                Motorcycle Gloves | eBay

You're in Bangalore, check out Lets Gear Up, its a store in HSR which has a brand called TBG, the set of jacket + gloves costs around 8k(TBG Street), and is completely worth it, just google it and read up on the reviews and such.

Homework: Jackets starts at Rs.5000 and Gloves start at Rs.2000. The most common are sastec and knox where sastec is superior. Armor is classified into CE level. Spartan, Rynox, cramster, TBG, AGV, rJays, DSG, solace are entry-level brands.
Hope this is enough. Now please suggest.

Good that you pointed out almost all the brands. Now coming to usage, looking at Bglore weather, I presume you would need rain protection but also need mesh jacket.
PS no jacket or gloves are water proof , so you have to somehow remove some names from the list

I rather avoid riding in heavy rains. But nevertheless it should be waterproof enough to avoid getting wet in drizzle.
