  • hello there....
i know no body asked, but still i am very eager to upload pics of my leather jacket hence i am doing so...

here it is, yamaha tribal jacket, however i don't like the FZ logo behind, size is L, a bit loose for me, but it does okay okay..
i always was very much interested in leather jackets, its a true biker's identity...

in a country like ours its warm to wear them, but i wore it twice and didn't find it uncomfortable or warm at all, its heavy though..

maybe as due to rainy weather it was not the case, in sunny rides i may boil like an egg...

    here comes the pics..

    front view.....

    rear view....

the 100% leather tag, i don't know why they put this up twice..

    yamaha logo..

the rainproof liner, detachable, i really don't know why is it necessary in leather as it gets spoilt after getting wet anyways..

the zipper to attach the liner....

the buckle for waist adjustments ....

goes well with my DSG Primal gloves... matches the color specially as the sleeves has a white embroidery...

however the jacket had a green wax like thing coated on all the metal parts, i brushed them off and scratched the metal parts..
leather is soft, similar to gloves, stitches on the leather section is good, however i am not happy with the quality of fabric used inside, could have been better..
quality of metal parts is also not upto the mark, but still leather is good so i am very happy...

zip moves up and down very smoothly even the liner's
has 4 pockets outside, 2 inside, if liner is work than only 1 inner pocket can be used...

its made in haryana so i don't expect it to beat international brand's quality but i still feel could have been better..

however i am happy, feels good to wear it, looks classy.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

      Throw some light on this..
You're right, you can never be sure. You would be surprised how many sizes a 'Medium' covers depending on the brand. The same goes for shoes - I picked up a pair of Astar boots the same size as my Sidi's, but I had to buy 44 instead of 43 since their size conversion was different.

In jackets, the fit would depend on the material, the padding/lining and the overall cut of the garment. I would never ever buy something online without having tried out the exact size in the same brand in a store offline.

Likewise for the helmets too. The best thing is try out the jacket from a friend who already has it. Even if it is a size smaller, you'll get a better idea than not having tried it at all.

why is shipping so expensive for India..
its cheaper from US to UK though..
but we have to pay a lot from US to India...
Well looking at the world atlas, the distance from US (east coast) to UK is 30% of the distance as compared to US - India. So the shipping cost will be lower. Sea frieght cost will depending on how big your order is - carrier services look at volumetric weight, so it depends. But $10-30 is the general ballpark figure.

If you have questions about specific websites, you should write to their customer care directly and get 100% accurate answers.

thanks bluevolt, i did it some time ago with leatherup.com, i thought someone must be knowing hence i posted..
any other good website recommendations apart from rider's discount and motorcycle superstore, which may ship to India ??
and 1 more thing that i wanted to ask everybody...
regarding the closeout sale in motorcycle superstore, if there's something on closeout there should i hurry and order it, or does it stay there for quite a while ??
i like a few things, but i don't know should i straight away order it or wait for some time...

and how are astars bionic knee guards??
some websites show it has M and L size, while other show only 1 free size which fits all..
any good recommendations in the bionic range ??
the only problem i have in ordering online is sizing, i weigh 47 kgs, so everything fits loose to me.
the only things i am confident on buying are shoes and helmet, regarding gear i am still doubtful weather it will fit perfectly or not...

How fast a closeout deal stays depends on a few things:

          1) How much is the discount on the original retail price?
          2) Is the product made by a popular brand? Or is it a popular item?
          3) How much stock they have? Popular sizes like M and L will run out faster than XS, S or XL.

It is very subjective, based off the retailer's inventory position? When I see a good closeout deal on a product I want, I compare all prices on the net and then order asap once I am satisfied.

Leather jacket in Mumbai I hope it's perforated. Else you can keep raw food inside then inner pocket, and it will be cooked by the time you reach your destination!

Do you mean SPS gloves? If so, close your eyes and buy them. Short comfortable leather gloves, costs around $80 or so in the US. Add a few extra dollars shipped.

no I checked SPS from their site design I liked the SP-X for different colors someone will be bringing them for me, but opinion of who has actually used one here, is there too much of difference in size between L and X in fitting

                      Hi MotoS,
I've been using Alpinestars SP-X gloves for the past 1 month. They are great...

I use size-L. It was bit tight initially, but broke-in after 10 days.

I am also planning to buy one for myselves and I have finalised Nero.
My reasons are: Maze is looking too much leathery and showoff, I cannot wear it in the city on regualr basis without attracting stares!! Apart from the personal choice other points are, There are a total of 6 pockets in Nero and zippers on Front, Back & Arms to let in air. When riding at slow speeds they will help a lot in keeping us cool and there are only 4 pockets in Maze and no zippers AFAIK according to the website...

Dude, But Maze is more suitable for the Hot climate as it is complete mesh and only has some patches of leather which makes it look stylish all the way more. Regarding Pockets i am going to carry a bag anyways so. I am still not sure about Nero because even Nero has Air intake but then too in climate like our south india where some times wearing a t shirt is hectic wearing a jacket would kill us.
