Finally I have complete set of protective gear(Thanks to my friends who helped me in procuring them from US). The whole idea was not to spend very much(such as Alpinestars) but yet get decent VFM stuffs. I started thoroughly checking out stuffs from DSG, Cramsters and Scokyo. Also asked fellow riders about the quality and durability of protective gears of these companies.
Later checked US sites for riding gears and found that at lower or equal price for indigenous protective gears I ll get much better gears from US. Finally checked for each individual gear and ordered them online. Most of the stuffs are bought from Amazon. Later got the gears procured via many friends and over a period of time. Somehow liked LS2 Phobia and I got it from Bangalore.
Today the final shipment of knee guards and Riding boots arrived.
Here the pic of all the gears.

      Jacket
      Budget~100$
I stumbled a lot of sites. Found a few good jackets. My requirement were- very good armor , breathable yet water proof mesh, lined inners (warmer , waterproof liner etc). Somehow I felt Xelement Black and Silver Jacket(Xelement Mens Black and Silver Motorcycle Jacket with Breathable 3 Way Lining and Level 3 Armor) was worth the moolah.

Read a lot of user reviews at Leatherup.com and other sites about this product. Finally made up my mind and ordered this. And I am happy that it is an awesome product and meets my requirements.I Have used thoroughly for an year in all conditions( in Hyd. monsoons, winters and majorly Hyderabdi summers)

      Cost- 119$

Pros- 600 Denier with Water proof laminated fabric,
CE Level 3 Approved Armor passing level EN1621-1 & EN1621-2
      impact tests,
3 Way Lining(A mesh lining, a waterproof lining and a warm quilt
      lining),
Lots of additional padding on back and upper shoulder,
Looks(matches with my black R15) ,leather linings

      Cons- Pretty heavy,
Needs to be sure of size(With all linings it better to go for one size
      bigger)

      Gloves-
      Budget- 30$
Wanted a decent pair of gloves with Carbon Kevlar Knuckles . Didn't want two different pairs (one pair for city riding and one pair for touring).
Though the budget was 30$ but when I came across Cortech Injector gloves deal at MotorcycleGear.com (the new name of New Enough) sells motorcycle jackets, helmets, gloves, luggage, tires, parts, and more! :: MotorcycleGear.com I didn't mind spending a bit more. The list price of Cortech Injector gloves is ~90$ and it was/is easily available on ebay/amazon around 80$(Amazon.com: Cortech Injector Gloves - Medium/Black/Black: Automotive). But a closeout deal at newenough the selling price was 39$. Couldn't help it and bought it without any second thoughts.

Thoroughly tested the gloves for last one year. I have used the gloves both for city riding as well as for touring. The quality and fit and finish are excellent.
Got it shipped for 45$(with shipping charges)

      Knee Guard:-
      Budget(40-50$)
Wanted a decent bionic knee guard, but did want to extend my budget anything above 50$. Checked a few sites and settled for ONeal Pumpgun knee guard(O'Neal Racing Pumpgun Knee Guards - Dirt Bike Motocross - Motorcycle Superstore).

Just got the shipment and fit and finish looks good. Need to validate it over a period of time.
      Cost- 45$

      Riding boots-
      Budget-100$
I wanted to stick to my budget and luckily got few options in 100$ range.
Thor Motocross Q1 boots(Thor Motocross Q1 Boots - Dirt Bike Motocross - Motorcycle Superstore) and O'Neal Racing Elements boots(O'Neal Racing Element Boots - Dirt Bike Motocross - Motorcycle Superstore reviews of both these boots were good and I just chose ONeal boots as a random pick.

Need to test these boots and validate.
      Cost- 99$
      Few more pics.

          Hey Buddy,

          Cool looking stuff!

Just a thought though - MX boots are almost up to the knees and heavily padded in the shins, right? How will you wear the knee guards too? Do they fit together?

          And are the boots vented?

Look forward to seeing your reviews!

@VK - Buddy, from what I can make out, they are primarily for mountain bikers - bicycles. So I doubt that they will offer the kind of protection that you need on your Ninja.

My own experience with plastic-plated bionic knee guards on sportsbikes like the Ninja is that they scratch my fairings and tank when worn over my pants and feel uncomfortable when worn underneath. Moreover, they don't allow me to feel/grip the sides of my bike with my knees when I try to tuck in at higher speeds. Maybe it's my height and body - geometry; I don't really know.

Anyway, this problem led me to experiment with these - Forcefield Limb Tube Knee Armour | Forcefield Body Armour and Climate Control

I have used them for about two weeks now, covering about 600 kms, and have even worn them for a whole day at the office under my jeans.

They're extremely comfortable and have so far been an absolutely delightful experience. The fabric is essentially abrasion resistant Cordura with some Lycra component to help it retain is shape and elasticity. The retaining elastic bands around the upper knee and lower calf are also infinitely adjustable.

The best thing is that it is worn like a garment under your clothes and is unobtrusive. Washable too after removing the armor.

For punting around town, I use them with jeans and the matching armored shorts underneath. For faster highway rides I wear them under my Cordura riding pants, for better abrasion resistance.

So far, I'm a happy customer!

                  Bro,

if you are picking it up from Mr. Bhavishya, i can assure you from my experience atleast, he will be in touch with you throughout to confirm that you are happy with his product. That is something which i think is a USP for a seller like him and makes one come back to him for more. Enough has been said about him on this thread beforehand so back end support from his side should not be a problem.

I am sure you won't regret it.

                  Cheers

I checked the boots and knee guards together. The lower portion of knee guard does overlap with upper portion of Riding boots. But Since knee guards are bionic and don't cover entire shin I found the overlap ok. Need to test the knee guards and boots on a trip and than can really verify the comfort level and the ventilation.

I got it through a cousin flying in from the UK. About 45 UK Pounds. (Rs.3300 approx). I mailed him about it and sent him a couple of links and they shipped to him free of cost. He just carried it over for me.

Both actually. The primary objective would be impact resistance and the secondary abrasion resistance. However when I ride on highways, I prefer wearing Cordura pants over them to add to the abrasion protection.

The construction of the product is such that the fit is very snug and secure - no slipping at all - but at the same time comfortable and unobtrusive enough to wear the whole day.

Ramkumar (xbhp ID - scorcher) has the AXO ones and they apparently held up pretty well when he crashed. But do note that the crash was at crawling speeds and at higher speeds something better is definitely required. Even Ram suggests something better since these are cheap replica's and are not the original ones. Safety should never be compromised.

The FOX knee and elbow armor is available at Orion for some 3k odd rupees. Check them out. They seem to be the genuine FOX armor. Merlion has them.

Best bet is to buy armored jackets and armored pants from Bachoo motors or DSG or PRS.
