I'm Sorry if i got it all wrong. But, you have asked us to suggest between RTR & ZMA and never a cross breed of both! I think you should narrow down ur search to ur liking & then ask for suggestions rather than putting like these...!Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostI want a bike which has both of the above..Whenever there is a Rainbow in the sky, I know it's u mastering the art of Cornering. Well....if you want everything, you have to stretch your budget, and go for R15.
Or why are you not considering P220??
ZMA looks out dated after entry of ZMR.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

R15 is not good enough for city, because it requires frequent gear changes..But its awesome on highways.Originally posted by sambit View PostWell....if you want everything, you have to stretch your budget, and go for R15.

I seriously dont like bajaj. Its my personal opinion. No offense to anyone.
ZMA is a great and proven bike, and value for money.I will go for ZMA anyday over ZMR.

This has added woes to my confusion..(The above are taken from thread New ZMA or P220 DTS-? thread, page no-22).Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostMy Karizma mid panels broke with my weight (I weighed 75-80 then).
The head-lamp lugs broke 2-3 times on their own

Valves needed to be changed despite changing oil at every 1000kms (Power 1) & the petrol filled was from the MOST reputed pump available.

ZMA is a wonderful bike....even I would have bought the ZMA,but hated the looks(personal opinion). Then I was sure about the P220,it had a waiting period of 1 month(in sept 2009 then).thats y i got the Apache 180,and I never regretted my decision. But if you are ok with the looks of ZMA,go for it.Ask for the waiting period of ZMA.if its going to take long, you can go for A180.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Waiting for the refreshed ZMA..And will then decide between the two..I read in your earlier posts that you narrowly escaped an accident, and was it because of the tyres and the brakes!!Originally posted by sambit View PostZMA is a wonderful bike....even I would have bought the ZMA,but hated the looks(personal opinion). Then I was sure about the P220,it had a waiting period of 1 month(in sept 2009 then).thats y i got the Apache 180,and I never regretted my decision. krish, even i had similar requirements and this is the way is proceeded-Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostWaiting for the refreshed ZMA..And will then decide between the two..I read in your earlier posts that you narrowly escaped an accident, and was it because of the tyres and the brakes!!
I initially shortlisted RTR 180, P220, ZMA, Fazer and R15
The 1st one to go out of the list was R15- It will do wonders on track no doubt, but not for City, and also long drives. City- yes i agree with you, the torque figures
2nd to go out of the list was Fazer- I enjoyed that bike like anything in goa for a week. That cornered amazingly good, and yes i mean it. I think it is the best handler among the non-track bikes in india. However, power, FE, let me down.
3rd to go was ZMA- Its an amazing tourer, but i will not go for age old technology, poor spares availability and expected problems after breakup.
And it was all down to RTR and P220, out of which i choose RTR for its nimble performance, extraordinary handling, light weight and easy to ride in traffic sense, good A.S.S, less on road presence, amazing torque characteristics, and a good tourer that can cruise at 80-90 easily. The ONLY issue is riding posture which for someone like me (6ft) is a bit let down. However, that will worry only if you take a stretch of around 300-400km non stop.
No bike is perfect dear. Its all about how you feel and are able to connect it to when you ride it for the 1st time
Good Luck

'Brakes' are the best you can get...Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostWaiting for the refreshed ZMA..And will then decide between the two..I read in your earlier posts that you narrowly escaped an accident, and was it because of the tyres and the brakes!!
Ye,the tyres sucks on wet roads....
But it sticks like glue on dry roads...even after 19k kms on my apache, the tyres are in solid condition...I can still do sharp corners and sharp braking without nervousness.
Simple tip:- Either be extra careful in rainy season,or change the tyres.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3
