Read through the Karizma and RTR threads, it will give you an idea about the plus and minus of both the bikes..RTR is not for long highway rides. Some owners have complained of Vibrations and engine problems afterward, whereas the Karizma has complaints on the Timing chain, and drive chain wear at 25 to 30 K kms,and non availability of spares. The Karizma engine is a Gem and reliable.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostI rode both the bikes.Apache is all about adrenaline rush and spirited riding and ZMA-R is about relaxed riding.I loved the A180 throttle response.I found that both A180 and ZMA have similar acceleration, probably (thats what i felt).Mileage of both the bikes will be same,i was told that the mileage would be anything between 40-45 by the showrooms
.The A180 brakes were awesome,it just stopped where i wanted it to,whereas the ZMA's brakes lacked bite
.It would have been great if HH would have replaced the drum with rear disc. But nevertheless both are great bikes in their own aspects.

No mods needed, maybe he needs new liners and a through cleaning of his rear brake drum and greasing of the cam..We are going OT though!Originally posted by babaa View PostMy friend wants to do that.HE thinks that rear drum lacks bite, and apache's rear disc has great stopping power..What mods are needed for this?"I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine. The New R version is different from old Karizma by having 6 clutch plates instead of 5 in the old.Otherwise, the engine is the same...If you don't rip the bike regularly, the timing chain lasts for 30 to 32 K Kms..it is not costly to change it..and so is the drive chain..People using it sanely have benefited from the bike's smooth engine and chassis stability. The engine is the Honda CRF 230 still used by Honda..Google for Honda CRF 230 and you will get more info...Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostDo new ZMA-R have also problems of timing chain?

Yes this engine is used on a proper dirt bike by Honda gues it's been tuned slightly diffrent in the ZMA our premium sports tourer!"I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine.
