Yeah, thats true man..If i get a good used zma, then i will happily go for it because after one and half year later i will be off for my MBA studies..I dont want to burn a hole in my parent's pocket..Took this decision after thinking for a long time.

Hi guys, need your help..Its the end of the month now,and i am still left to decide my steed.Yesterday i took a test ride of a used zma, which has clocked 29000kms and i loved it.The owner had changed its piston and bore, some 1000 kms before..It was like i was riding a new zma..The only thing i am concerned it the front fairing rattles when the bike passes over a pot hole. The guy said the t-pipe needs to be straighten and everything should be fine..
            What say guys?

I seriously dont like bajaj. Its my personal opinion. No offense to anyone.
ZMA is a great and proven bike, and value for money.I will go for ZMA anyday over ZMR.
And hows apache 180?Please let me know its pros and cons..!!
Erm if i am not wrong the Current model of R15 shares its clutch plates with that of yamaha FZ16/FZ-S so the lower end torque is much better than what it used to be earlier hence, lesser gear changes. Why don't you go for a test drive and then judge it? And if you do end up purchasing an R15 then after you get bored of the current top speed and the way it reaches to there... you can always JOEL mod it and get better goodies out of it. Much has been discussed about him on this site. So you can always enhance the capabilities of the motor and the overall performance of this bike..

                  cheers

                    adding my 2 cents.

I have owned the RTR 180 for more than a year. I think its a fantastic bike based on how you look at it.

                    1. Its very light ( wrt ZMA/ZMR), which if you like a nimble animal is great. Its per-formant , in a way which is well contrasting to ZMA. In short its quick footed while ZMA could be called poised. Its basically what you like.
                    2. In my understanding the RTR works in two modes. A butter smooth ride till about 4.5K rpm ( which is good for city riding). Then it turns slightly viby from 4.5 - 5.5 K rpm. Then it turns into an absolute adrenaline package after you cross about 5.5 K rpm. It smooths out, the power band peaks beautifully and is an absolute adrenaline rush. ZMA on the other hand would have ( i heard) a smoother set of characteristics, more even, more linear. You will have to choose between a "involved experience" to a more "relaxed ride".

( as I mentioned earlier somewhere) The fuel consumption is primarily a factor of your riding ability.Guess not much to choose between the ZMA and RTR. I haven't riddent the ZMA yet, but RTR 180 is amazing fun , when run in a long stretch. Everytime I get to hit 80-ish for a while , I come out of the ride feeling as if I just been out from a theme park, widely grinning. Ride after ride ... everytime.

Importantly, do test ride both of them in long stretch, hitting the high revs to make a better judgment on which one suits you better.
Also do check ZMA's lower end torque to RTR's.

Guess you won't go wrong with either. And one tiny bit more. I always felt a man and his bike have a special relationship. Try if you can to get a new one.

Cheers and all the best finding your ride.

Mileage is very subjective, going by logic Apache will fetch more kms per litre than Zma. But A180 cannot match Zma in many areas like touring, longdistance cruising, comfortness etc etc, please explore XBHP ....

Thats true mate..I had an apache fi and it had split personality, beyond the 5-5.5k rpm it turns absolutely smooth and pulls effort lessly..I love the zma for its comfort, reliability and touring capabilities and on the other hand the 180 is an hell of a monster,it gives more adrenaline rush and sporty feeling and as you said its very nimble and quick.

ehm....! What kind of reply are you expecting?

On whether to go for zma or a180, well both are hot favorites on xbhp and enjoy equal following. Any decision you make wont be a disastrous one. Well for me its the a180 cos i find it more engaging to ride. Also i think the minor vibes present are part of the package. It adds up to the exitement. On the other hand the zima is more calm and composed. Both are on the flip side of a coin. So choose... Either heads or tails.
