Village road travel is 40% only , 40% City and 20% highway , I frequently go to amritsar by highway which is 40 km away from my town .. I don't wannna use full power of bike . I found Duke 200 the best handler for me .. If you understand punjabis then you know how much will they hate Duke 200 design , Same happening with my dad , he thinks Duke is a bad racer bike. But i wanna buy it for perfect handling .. Pulsar 200 NS is okay too but i dont feel confident in it.

I dont understand 2 terms you have used till now..

      1. Legs feel like they are not planted. Planted where?? Do you mean that you dont feel the weight??
      2. Bad racer bike. What does this mean?

Any bike is prone to accidents. I have seen many number of splendors that have met with accidents in Hero workshop compared to Karizmas and ZMRs.. does it mean splendors are accident prone?? Even if u r walking on the road and you fall down.. does it mean you are accident prone human being? I dont think so. It depends on oir fate my dear friend.. i was suppose to be dead 6 years back when i was hit by a Safari on my right and pushed to the side walk divider on my splendor.. but i survived.. it wasnt my fault nor my bike fault.. all that natters is how safe you are and your helmet matters big time..

        1. When sitting on Pulsar 200 NS my feet dont feel planted on ground properly . But when sitting on duke i feel my feet well planted on ground.

        2. My dad thinks Duke 200 is a bad racer bike by seeing its looks and design.

        ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

The thing is my dad is fan of desi styled bikes like Hero Karizma And honda stunner .. He feels half faired bikes are more safe . But i found Duke 200 to be best handler . My dad is scared of KTM Duke design as he thinks ktm is a bad speeder.

Re: Honda CBR 250 STD vs KTM Duke 200 vs Hero Karizma ZMR 2014

Don't take this in any other way but:

          1) If you are observing while sitting on an NS, the feet is not planted then your height somehow is not gelling with the bike.

          2) If you want to run away from posers who do stunts and dangerous riding as per your description, what do you mean by that?? If running away is the criteria then all one needs to do is reduce the speed to less than 40 kmph when such posers on road try to instigate you, after two minutes of circling around, they get so frustrated they don't bother you after that and go on their merry way. So your justification of having a fast bike with the capability to do 140 kmph doesn't make any sense in this scenario!

          3) Assuming your village has "B" grade roads and Amritsar has far better roads on the highway along with city traffic, you should consider the following factors:

          * Better pot hole friendly: i.e. better comfort when on bad roads which means the good Duke 200 with its stiffer suspension will not cut in.
          * "Fill it, Shut it, Forget it" kinda bike: known for reliability and low maintenance thus lower ownership costs and lesser trips to the petrol station.
          * Better seating dynamics, especially for highway rides where long distance riding will lead to sore rear side of yours.

          4) Out of the 3 choices you have mentioned (CBR 150, Pulsar 200NS & KTM Duke 200):

          * For build quality and modern engine with Fuel Injection for better throttle response, i would route for the CBR 150. Offers you decent Fuel economy and predominantly is a low maintenance bike. Is a good handler too.
          * From a pricing point of view, a Pulsar 200NS is the best bet as it is Bajaj cheap and the spares should be easily available locally translating to easy maintenance for you.
          * KTM Duke 200 even though a very good bike, only because of stiffer suspension and the inner animal that it brings out on novice riders i would not recommend that for you.

          5) Finally the most important thing for all those who have not been exposed to safe riding and correct riding style: There is a saying "If you think your head is worth $10, wear a helmet which is worth $100 coz if you end up in a hospital, the bill will be worth $1000!!" XBHP always encourages safe riding on streets and always gives paramount importance to riding gear. Doing 140 - 160 kmph on public roads blessed by cows, poser bikers and morons is an absolute No No!

Since, you have just graduated to the legal age of obtaining a licence and a bike, like everyone has suggested: Give importance to rider safety gears and learning the art of safe riding rather than how fast the speedo needle moves towards 140 - 150 and 160 kmph extra!! Any genuine biker will always lay importance over improving their braking and cornering skills rather then opening the throttle wide and going Ga Ga over top speed. Any person with the basic understanding can do that on any bike on a straight line!

The last line above is not to make fun of you or taunt you, but is a sincere request from all senior riders from xbhp: for you to understand and work on rather than concentrating on top speed.

          Hope this helps..

          Cheers,

My dad says KTM Duke is a racer bike and he says pulsar 200 ns will be a proper commuter bike .. But he don't knows that Pulsar 200 is faster then KTM D200 in top speed

Make your mind on the excuses. Consider yourself lucky to have this thread approved in the first place.
You're a danger on roads yourself. You cruise at 80+ speeds on pothole ridden roads? Get a second hand car.

May god bless you and your parents!

Again the same old lame post! Ask your dad if he wants to see you alive for long.

If it is your dad's money and you are not able to convince him then you have 2 options. Either buy the bike of his choice or be happy with your current ride. As no one from xbhp can personally talk to your dad.so you try your best with all data points pros and cons of each and accept his will.

And please restrain from repeatative posts/logics you are giving.

Dude. If your dad has decided to get you either the P220 or P200ns. Why come here and waste the time of others? Seriously. The way you started this thread made me wonder if you are a wannabe.. as in a poser, just showing attitude. The capital letters you used earlier would have got you into trouble if the person you quoted had taken it personally.. you are lucky yoh have been spared til now. Get a bike you and your dad like.. if you feel the legs dont get planted on the ground with the p200ns. Then you have no other choice other than a p220.. if you dont like that too, please get yourself a second hand car and drive safe.. this is what your parents would do if they are concerned about your life..

Your excuses keep changing.. either make up your mind or let your dad decide..

Phew.. from CBR250 and Duke 200 all the way to CBR150 and finally a p200ns and a P220.. Is it going to change to P180, P150 and then a P135 and discovers?? LOL

I'd go a step ahead from what prateek said. How about introducing some ways like those in team bhp. Objective would be to make membership a bit difficult in order to filter out people with fake profiles and those having unsuitable characteristics who tend to just increase the data on the forum and waste other's time. Now that xbhp is a rapidly growing forum, such steps have to be put up.
