What are my next options now ?
    Criteria :
    Budget up to 1.2lac max
Must be a powerful bike like p220

    Pls share your thought s

I will wait till auto expo 2016 if its worth waiting.

Upgraded my budget to 1.5L max ,since i dont want to spend more .

Does P220 suffer from excessive fishtailing at panic braking, that might have led to the accident?
Asking this, as P220 could be the next bike for many of us.

If you hve good tires n properly set suspension then now. The new 220s are good handlers.

Would advice against the 220F.It's gonna get discontinued very soon.

Spares would be available. So discontinuation is not an issue. Its still a great bike in the 200 cc class for people who do not want a lot of tech n look for a simple machine.

Searched through the internet, there are mentions of P220 getting transformed into a very good handler with improved refinement post 2012.
But, was unable to find the (technical)cause of the transformation, anywhere.

Thanks. But, sad to know. P220F is the only bike that comes closest to Old Karizma R as a comfortable all-rounder bike.

Rear break is too lazy in 220 , i don't remember fishtailing ones in 30k kms 4 yrs of ownership. Its a good machine with some demerits like crude engine, front heaviness ,vibrations etc
About the accident ,i ran into a big pothole @80kmph ,causing front & rear rim bend . Later i found about the chassis bend .

I,myself,am looking for the cause. I have a 2009 p220 in my stable. It is like a truck, both in torque and handling. The newer 220s feel lighter and much more crisp. But the torquy feel is missing.

The P220 rides like it's on rails.. Under panic braking the rear looses traction easily but it does go in a straight line, which is acceptable as in my ZMA the bike used to literally fish tail.

Plus at speeds on 110+ and 90+ I've had dumb ****s tap me from the side real hard.. And on both occasions other than some paint left over on the exhaust the bike was fine.

Most probably because you went hard on brakes with both bikes. A locked wheel would lose traction and eventually fishtail and if locked for long, may lead to a crash. I agree on the Karizma twins losing their tail quicker than P220, which despite having fuzzy-er brakes, manages better due to the 120 section tire.

On the contrary, i always felt at home on Karizma twins under any condition, although i did not spend much time on P220 saddle.

Another observation, a 20000 km old P220 engine feels almost similar to new P220, whereas a P150 loses its juice post 20000kms despite good maintenance. Does bajaj use better quality spares for P220 as compared to P150/P180? Or is it that P220 owners take good care of it?

Thread Starter, pardon me for the off topic discussions.

May I suggest the RS200. But servicing & repairing is very difficult. Same goes with the AS200. They all have complicated mechanicals which prove difficult to maintain & service. Spares availability is too less. Avoid Avengers, because they are not at all suited for city + they are very short in seat height (comfort issues for taller people) + unstable under emergency braking.

Another suggestion is the RTR200. But it will take 4 months to arrive in showrooms. But nothing much is know about the bike. Spare parts & reliability is unknown. But less complicated engine than the RS/AS. It will be easy to service & maintain the RTR200.

I also believe in Auto expo, there would be no such bike under 1.5L (except maybe Hero relaunches Karizma?) Will you consider Electra 350? Its a different league machine. Loads of torque, stable & calm machine. But you have to wait a lot of time + maintenance cost is higher + requires lots of attention.

So this proves, 220F is still a very practical, powerful, reliable & economical bike to run under 1.5Lakh price. There are no fully satisfactory replacements under 1.5L for you go for new 220F again, its a evergreen bike

P220 is a great machine in its own League .

But i want something new , maybe some decent used bike under 1lac .
What r my options then , under 1.5 Lac, in used bike market ?
