This question may have been asked many a times, but still I have no option but asking it again.
I am from a district town in West Bengal, riding a Bajaj Pulsar 150 UG3 for more than 8 years. There have been little to no complaints regarding my bike. Perhaps little credit could be attributed to my riding style too. However nowadays I am feeling like upgrading it.
I have been looking for a suitable upgrade since 10-12 months, almost zeroed on CBR 250R. But a few mishaps in my family restricted my purchase. So my searching for my next ride resumed from where it was stalled.
I am 5'8" average build. Riding experience of about 90K kms.
I am looking for a bike capable of cruising around 100 kms with decent pillion comfort and smooth engine. My usage would be in city 50% highway 50% approx, also for occasional touring. Budget around 3 lakhs, could be extended a little further. Also am looking to keep this bike for at least 5-6 years if not more.
After going through the ownership experience threads of Yamaha R3 I almost selected it but the dealer said it's not available here. [emoji19]
So the choice again left at CBR 250R. But considering its falling sales and age would it be good decision to invest in one? Or should I go for a 2016 Duke 390?
Benelli and Mojo are out of option as these are not available in my city and I cannot go to Kolkata for each and every service related issues, if any.
        Thanks in advance.
CBR250R sales have dropped significantly due to Mahindra Mojo

I would suggest to either wait till Honda updates it (which they should if they have any sense left)

Even if you buy the CBR250R and Honda updates it after you buy it, you ain't gonna get any resale value on it

Or look for alternatives, I still wouldn't suggest the Mojo blindly as Mahindra is still pretty new in performance biking and there may be an issue with spares or after sales service, however, they are expanding and planning to release an ABS version of the Mojo, but still, I myself wouldn't buy it so can't recommend it either

Bajaj RS200 (better on highways) or Apache 200 (decent everywhere) would be good options

If you want more power then wait for Bajaj RS400 or CS400

None of the Yamaha or Suzuki bikes are good for pillion comfort, even RS200 and Apache 200 are not that great at it, but atleast they have a flat seat rather than a slant seat

If Cruising is your main intention with pillion comfort then there is nothing better than Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise

I wouldn't recommend Royal Enfield as I am not so sure about their reliability

Suffering from the same dilemma. Heart set on R3. But way out of budget. I don't like the new color schemes of CBR250. Plus very sceptical about it being updated or discontinued altogether..

Price is very high. Early batches had many issues which were sorted out later. Go for at least 2013 model.

I will bid 80000. Don't go beyond 90. After all it's a 6 year old machine. Also depends a lot upon the present condition. Service and repairs , usage etc..

Ohh just walk away from a third hand vehicle. There must be a reason it's been sold three times.

patience Keep looking for other bikes in the market. for a 5 years old 3rd hand CBR. I wouldn't pay more than 80k as themachinehead suggested. You can get a 2013-14 ABS models with similar odo readings between 1.1-1.25L
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

                          Honda CBR 650F / CBR 250R ABS Repsol (Sold) / Yamaha FZ-S

Thanks for all the suggestions. Its actually a second hand. But i will take a td as the guy stays closeby to my house. I will try negotiating it for around 80k. I am a much wiser man now, thanks to you all.

You are welcome. But do take advice of some trustworthy Honda mechanic when finalising on the purchase

Did the thread originator go with r3? I am confused as hell. I was almost sold on re himalayan but the recent recall has put me in the back foot. Confusion confusion and more confusion. Cbr or re himalayan?
