No buddy I haven't, though my heart really wanted to. A few factors restricted my purchase, such as non availability in my town, no SVC, and not much increase in salary after 7th pay commission. [emoji14]

7th pay commission is a joke. It ruined my plan for R3 😡

I personally don't like REs. Bike should be such fill it, shut it and forget it.
        REs have so many niggles.
Plus i don't see any advantage of having 350/500 cc bike when you can't go beyond 90. Above that they vibrate like hell and the brakes are a joke on these things.

If it's CBR vs RE go for CBR 250r. Even the 500cc bullet can barely beat the CBR150r in acceleration, mileage and braking. Looks good, sounds good. That's it about Enfield's.

If it's CBR vs Duke390 then choose the Duke if the Svc is nearby. Otherwise the Honda should do you good. Few visits to the SVC, if you buy Honda.

My wife would hate the back seat of the duke. I think its between cbr, himalayan or the pulsar cs 400. I am not sure of pillion comfort on the cs 400

Are spares easily available for the cbr 250?

Even I thought so, but my wife approved it after a short ride. She is average built though. But if you are planning to carry a backpack, then forget about pillion comfort.

Called up several shorooms for cbr250 test rides none of them had it. Also they said they are not taking bookings for cbr 250 as they are still expecting the 2016 edition. Come on honda.

Re: Would buying CBR 250R be a good decision now?

CBR250R - Bangalore, Whitefield showroom says they cannot say how long is the waiting period. There have been no supply of new bikes since six months due to lack of parts from Thailand. (Again!)

RE - As usual the plethora of open wires scare me. Teknik motors Indiranagar tries to pass on a new Himalayan for Test ride. A bike with 120 on ODO just refused to shift gears with engine idling. 3 sales staff tried to fool me by saying it is a brand new engine and this is a feature, you have to change gears on the run. Second reason was that it is because of a new design Crank Shaft. Third reason was because the gears are larger. Needless to say, I walked off feeling sorry for them and potential RE Customers.

MOJO - Almost paid for it until when I asked for some additional benefits for trusting Mahindra's new venture. Company rep said on the phone this is our premium bike so no considerations of any kind. Walked off thinking if this is the attitude in uncharted waters with plenty competition, God help MOJO customers in future, if at all it becomes a success. I mean a Rodeo and Gusto seller with barely any mark on the 2-wheeler scene is showing such attitude after selling 200 odd bikes in about a year.

                      Duke - Pillion comfort lacking

TVS 200 - Not really a tourer. But a very good bike

Benelli TNT 25 - Lacks torque

BMW 310 - Not sure, but seems to have a Sports Commuter stance (like the Gixxer/ Fazer) and I thin lacks low end torque too.

Depressed and dissapointed that with 2.5 lacs budget, cannot find a decent tourer with Pilion comfort and Company attitude/ Name to back my money.

Any help and suggestion would be welcome.

Go for duke 390. As of now it's very refined. All niggles sorted out. Asc excellent. Lots of torque. Lots of horses. It's not that uncomfortable for a pillion.
                        U can't have a perfect bike.
Pick the one which crosses most of your check list.

I can see that the CBR300R also has the same instrument cluster as that of CBR250R. Any chance of it being updated when launched in India?

300 being launched in India? 😂

They are going to put new stickers on the old 250, that's it.

Even if honda releases 300r now it will be too little too late.
Design is already dated. Competition is very tough in this segment. G310r, CS400, Suzuki 250, updated duke 390 and RC 390 to name a few. The only way out is to price the 300 same as 250. Which is not likely at all.
If they increase the cost it will bring it very close to yzf R3 if not equal. And that my friend will be suicidal.

Btw 250 still looks awsome to me. It has neutral style. Nothing over the top like pulsars or downright ugly like fazers.
