Me and my friend using CBR150 and CBR250 respectively . We both facing lots of problem with our bikes.

Here are some points we observed after using CBR :-

    1. Bike fairing vibrations and sound . (Increasing after day by day use and unable to fix it.)

    2. Bike suddenly shut down and never start up. (Facing this problem from 1st day but till now no specific reason and solution found.)

    3. Pathetic service center. (Treat CBR like shine/stunner. last time installed shines brake pads in my CBR )

    4. Costly spare parts (It affects total maintenance cost ).

    5. Some parts used in bike are low quality (My bike fell in parking and Handle bar bent.)
I'm using the bike for 5 years all the complaints mentioned 1 and 2 can be fixed at proper SVC.
Point 3 I can't help that's something you should consider before purchasing the bike.
Point 4 I don't understand what do you mean by costly spares ? I think the spares which go with regular wear and tear are priced normal at any point general service doesn't cost more than 1000 apart from engine oil.
Point 5 Maybe you don't have experience with bikes but its not exactly an issue the reason is that if your bike fells on the handle side and the parts attached to handle are forks and the frame of the bike if the handle is stiff/hard then the impact will be on the fork and frame which is even terrible. Best example the formula one cars blows up in to 1000 pieces every time it hits something its by design to reduce impact of the hit onto the driver does that mean they are of low quality ?

My Yamaha Fazer also fall in parking but no problem with handle bar or any other part tear down.

        Before replying atleast read once
        Again
Point 1 & 2 : can be fixed at proper SVC that means an SVC that has proper well trained mechanics.
Point 3: Was about the SVC issue not every SVC is same and you need to have good rapo with mechanic.
You had fazer but I had FZ everytime it fell I had to change handle and read my previous comment once properly with open mind.
No body is trying to prove you wrong I'm just trying to explain moreover no matter what you say about CBR250R is sold in many countries and it has a proven record of being reliable bike.

Although a CBR 250 looks like a no brainer for you but the soon to be released (I guess before 6 months) CS 400 ticks all your boxes minus the Bajaj tag

BMW G310 R is another bike which ticks all your boxes. That should be here in another 4 months or so but not sure whether they will open shop in Burdwan or not

I say wait till the BMW is here in the market and then take the plunge. CBR is here to stay

My bad, soon to be released for me means within 6 months or so considering the test bikes are already spotted by various bloggers

@Thread Starter - If you want to keep the bike for 5-6 years then Mojo doesn't sound a good option as Mahindra is still on shaky ground when it comes to 2 wheeler

I think you should wait for 2-3 months.. Bajaj will be coming with CS400.. it will suit all your needs but its still Bajaj ..
with help of KTM.. new pulsars have very refined performance compared to old ones..
At the end.. it's your choice..

Bro i showed CBR in all SVCs in my city. All up their hands for Vibrations and Sound. For Bike shut down problem SVC changed Cam shaft and piston too but no use. Even i talked with Honda rep from Pune and showed him bike personally. He also unable to explain why bike shuts down suddenly.

Last incident of bike shut down 21/04/2016 , So for me CBR is most unreliable bike. And dont want anyone fall in this pothole therefore posted in this thread.

Re: Would buying CBR 250R be a good decision now?

Thank you everyone for your views.
The attitude of Honda Service Centres are usually very unappealing. They treat your expensive bikes likes their commuter ranges. And regarding my interaction with Honda Sales team about CBR, their lack of interest and unwillingness to arrange any test drive made me think to look away from them.
After going through various ownership threads, I am closing to decide to go for Yamaha YZF R3. For that I need to save a little more and wait for my transfer order. Meanwhile, if Bajaj and BMW launch their bikes, those will be added bonus.

Therefore I request the moderators to close the thread.

Once again, thank you everyone for your views.
                    Regards..

I don't know what to say becuase I have bike for 5 years now and everyone rides you can see in ownership they all are also happy about it.
I saw your profile is it 150 or 250 you are talking about? If its 150 then I don't recommend it at all but 250 is gem.

When you say bike shut down automatically, have you tried to understand why?? I mean, what happens after it shuts down? It doesn't turn on or doesn't start or doesn't even crank? does the bike shut down after heating up and upon cooling does it start again? If yes, then possibly it is the Fuel pump which is the culprit..

Yup.. I agree with what you say.. if we have a bad experience with something, it will stay with us forever...

After sudden shutdown i tried to start bike by pressing start button but only craank craank crank sound come, no response from the engine. No problem in Electrical system or Battery(Changed battery 3 times but no use). No engine heat up during sudden bike shutdown,so there is no heating problem.

Get the ignition coil checked.. Or there might be loose connections to the ignition coil...

this post looks funny for even to respond .. but let me reply on this one.....

                              1. every damn motorcycle has vibrations and Sound.. even a ducati.. as for CBR there are multiple points where the vibes can be dampened.
                              a. gap bvetween headlight and top plastic. add a rubber pad there else dpuble sided tape.
                              b. tank and the front tank cowl. add another 2 peices of double sided tape there.
                              c. under the tank the bolt that connects the tank to frame. ask them to add another rubber mount and then tighten it.
                              d. make sure engine under belly and cowl is tightened well.
                              e. side fairing plastic ribbets to be changed every 10,000 km they vibrate and get loose. hardly a few bucks each.
                              f. ask to open fairing and remove stones and debris. the small pockets grey colours on either side is a stone bin.
                              g. chain slack and lube to be right else nothing in the woirld can save vibes.
                              h. engine oil and filter and air filter to checked on time.
                              j. injector to be cleaned and maintained. either get a injector cleaner else use an additive.

2 bike shutting down many times has happened with many of us and it is to do with the fuelling which reduce when the throttle is cut off. its there even in D390 however it happens only once or twice a year. Please refer to points h & j for same issue.

                              3. a motorcycle is a motorcycle we cannot judge if they are treating it like a shine. come to your point shine brake pads dont even fit CBR so this does not even makes sense. if they do please let me know. i would love to buy and use cheaper pads sir.

                              4.
you find parts expensive. glad you did not buy ninja 250. Please set the expectations right.

                              5. you are complaining for just a bent clip-on ? its just 500 bucks... Ninja 250 clip-on costs 13,000 INR .. hope that make you tell what can be called expensive.
for sure honda can make parts will will not bend or break be prepared for a 300 KG bike.

basics are very important to learn before you assume that a product is bad. keep the engine healhty. Next time it stops. turn ignition off. pull the key out. put it back in. lets the machine do its pre check and then hit the starter. and pull the throttle along side. this is a hack that works most time however something tells me engine is not running healthy.

piston and cam changed ? if either of 2 were bad the machine wont even run.
hopefully you are not doing what college kids do- rev - brake - rev - brake - rev.. and then maintain like old CD100. wont work.. it just wont...

                                e. side fairing plastic ribbets to be changed every 10,000 km they vibrate and get loose. hardly a few bucks each.

2 bike shutting down many times has happened with many of us and it is to do with the fuelling which reduce when the throttle is cut off. its there even in D390 however it happens only once or twice a year. Please refer to points h & j for same issue.

                                3. a motorcycle is a motorcycle we cannot judge if they are treating it like a shine. come to your point shine brake pads dont even fit CBR so this does not even makes sense. if they do please let me know. i would love to buy and use cheaper pads sir.

you find parts expensive. glad you did not buy ninja 250.

Thanks for giving your valuable time to respond my funny post.
