    • You cannot say which one is good out of P220 and R15. The best thing is to test ride and decide which suits better. After all the discussions about the negatives and positives, I guess the thread starter should be able to decide which suits him better.

Better not drag this thread any further.

      • If i had to buy a bike for highway commute , then it would be the HH zma .
        Not the zmr.

Yes its a boring bike , But nothing that beats it when u utter the word "Highway"

Adequate torque to overtake , lovely handler , relaxed long stroke engine.

Factually , a short stroke single cylinder is never good for touring .

a bike being ridden at 9500-10000 (with redline as 10.5)rpm is not called touring .Its called torture.

We have adapted ourselves since we have no choice (ex Pulsar/R15/RTR).

TS- If u ever change ur mind , dont look beyond the Zma.U ll never regret

at 100kph in 5th gear, you'll be doing about ~7k rpm on the 220, and there's still a lot of reserve power left! Yeah, the ZMA and the 220 are still very different in character, and i personally wouldn't mind buying either. but since TS has kinda ruled out the ZMA now, its between the R15 and the 220...

          • I agree with Santa. If I were buying the ZMR, inspite of the extra features I would think really hard whether the extra 23-24K makes sense coz there is hardly any power jump.
I still feel ZMA is the best tourer out there.

            • Thanks for all the responses. the above discussions have cleared a lot of my doubts about the bikes in question.

Had a decently long TD of the R15 yesterday and found the bike to be very good.

              1) the TD was not long enough, for me to go beyond 7K RPM, but got a feel of wat it would feel like and was really happy.
              2) Really liked the engine refinement.
3)took the bike over a medium pothhole at around 70-80KMPH and bike felt rock solid. was amazed with the way suspensions worked, no wobbling whatsoever.
4)The braking was very good, and confidence inspiring. esp,the way i use brakes(80% front brakes to stop and rear brakes after front).
              5) The seating position was something new, and it was fun. i think i would not have any problems in the long run.
6)I think it would take sometime for me to get used to the gear-lever and rear brake-lever positioning. Had some issues with the gear changes too( a bit too hard), and not sure it is only with the TD bike that i had, or it is me who was finding it difficuly.
7)It would take sometime for me to get used to the handling too, esp in slow moving traffic. at high speeds though, it was a different altogether and was very confidence inspiring.

              Now my questions,
I heard from a friend that, there are issues over the availability of spares of R15, how true is it? I know the issues with the availability of tyres and hope the issues would be sorted out, by the time my turn comes( in case i opt for R15).

How is the ASS of yamaha in blore? and which showroom is better, panache or orion?

Would have a TD of 220 over the weekend and that would clear my cluttered mind.

                You are always welcome

Spares are easily available in this part, no issues whatsoever though i would like to add that my A$$ guys are particular and make sure you get everything and once the alloted parts to them starts to being used up, they place an order then and there, the tires are available tooof the FZ also

Please take a TR of P-220 and see which motorcycle suits you best before putting the cash down,
Best of Luck and do keep us informed

I like the limited edition-it has the same R125/R6 combo except for the white alloys!

                        • I heard from the showroom owner that, R15 LE color combo would hit the showrooms only by end of feb/mid march. that would be too long for me to commute in my car esp,in Bangalore traffic.

If i decide for R15,even i am thinking of yellow/red color combination.

                          • dude.. i would suggest u to not go for the LE ...wen yamaha released the LE fz and fazer ppl bought it and now are repenting...the paint finish on the alloys was poor ...rather suggest go for the available colour which actually suit the r15...

this all is just futile if u actually like the white in which case i wud ask u to wait for the bike...

                            • my take is different, forget the quality, God forbid but if you crash the motorcycle, its pretty hard to find parts in the same color/combination after some time, One Repsol Uni is running with a regular tank, for the record, LE Fazer parts aren't available
