  • Instead of getting a new set of piston & rings, get RX 135 piston and rings and rebore your bore to the RX 135 piston size. you will have a 135 cc then. sorry i don't know the piston size of the RX 135.

Sorry if i sounded rude in the last post.

I have uploaded a workshop manual of an RX 100, hope this helps you

Just click on this link and download it.

        • wanted to know the cost of
          1. 135 block or reboring my existing to 135.
          2. piston kit of 135
          3. new bigger carb

by changing the regulator rectifier to 12v one can we get the light setup for power lighting?or should i change the setting in the light coil as well?
asking this because after installing the RR my 35w bulbs were fused now using the 55/60, but the lighting is not that bright compared to what i got when i had 35w which fused.

and the battery is oozing out white crystal like deposits between the seat and the battery space. is it ok or should it be changed?what will a new battery cost?

i have seen few boxes below tank which has a pipe connected near carbs. when i enquired i was told it was power box. wanted to confirm does this power box mean CDI? because few mechanics give some simple names for the parts.

          and finally
doing my bike to 135 4 speed, will it improve the fuel efficiency or will it be the same?currently i am getting 36-38 on my 100.what efficiency figures can i expect? and what will be the figures if i get a 135 5 speed setup

          • its not that simple.. a conversion to a 135 would ideally include

            bore
            head
            carb
            clutch
            crank
the above wud need to be changed..yes mileage is way better than the 100..so is power

            • have dropped the idea of conversion to 135 now
and the bad news is i have a bore seize due to piston rings expansion.
now a reboring has to be done along with change in piston set.

which piston is better to use? ART? or MAHLE?
what if the crank has to be removed?

who is the best trusted mechanic in bangalore to get the things done properly. and what will be the cost?

              • Art pistons are hard to source but not impossible, mahle are also equally good, crank will only have to be removed only if your con rod has a play of more than 1mm. get the rebore done at a good lathe, i know a person in malleswaram if you need help you are welcome.

Regarding mechanic Joe is one of the best for the engine rebuilds.

i have no time to take things around and get it done. so asked for a trusted mechanic. My mechanic is busy with two bike restoration.

                  And Where is Joe's garage?
                  Any mechanics in Jayanagar?

                      • i was thinking if you guys take a look at the bike or probably ride it you will know the condition of it and then suggest me accordingly. regarding the bike bore seizure the Yamaha service center(Bangalore Wheels) guy tested it just by starting the bike and listening to the sound and quoted a figure of 5000 for rectification and 10000 for 135 conversion.

If you are using the bike this whole week dont take it over 40kmph, best advice don't use it,gandhies depends on how good is your crank right now, if your crank has to be rebuilt expect more, i have pm'ed you my number in any case if you require further help.

                          • have saved your number. will be running it at 40kmph only.
Between got a call from my mech saying i can leave the bike at his garage. he is done with the projects.
he says he will check the bike once and give a complete restoration of engine along with crank. and few others issues which i was complaining to him.

i thought before i leave the bike to any of the garage someone like you or joel takes a look at my bike it will be good.

                              • worst thing happened yesterday evening. was riding back home and suddenly the bike stalled to stand still. 8-10 kicks the bike did not bring back to life. opened the petrol tank cap and then closed it thinking it will be just a air block. few more kicks the bike comes to life and dies down suddenly. had to push it around for a km and then tried starting again. bike comes to life but sems no power is generated if i revv, then the gears are adamant to change. luckily managed to shift to second and with the same gear took the bike to my mech. Have left the bike at Mech, this evening i will get the diagnosis report.
keeping my fingers crossed. hope its not too bad.
