no not plating work, painting work on handle(silver color just like pulsar). will post the pic once its installed.

guys there is a oil leak from the gear lever. the prob was not there earlier before servicing. what should i do to stop the oil leak?and since i have a new gear lever toe shifting is very hard and difficult, but heel shifting is smooth.

Sad but true Irc tyres have a very short span of life the maximum is 15k kms.

          • was travelling the weekend so no mods done on the bike. today will be going in for a handle change and the universal lock setup

the side lock key broke while removing the lock.

pics of the handle coming soon.

            expected cost
handle (sri hari automobiles 170 rs)
welding a flat bar and painting it black (250 rs )
            universal lock key setup 450 + welding a clamp 100 (550 Rs)
and also oil seal has to be changed since it is leaking while in side stand from the gear lever side.

              • Have you checked the colour of the spark plug, check it asap

Open the head and bore and have a look at the rings, check there are any marks in the bore i mean the inner part of the bore. keep your fingers crossed ...

and regarding the ring and bore what worst could be happening?
what marks should i be looking for?

I mean check the colour of the spark plug, a minor seizure could have happened nothing else to worry.

what should i be checking ? and what should be replaced or fixed?

Check the compression first,if the compression is below the desired level, i have mentioned some few pages back what should be th ideal compression for RX 100 check out. piston rings have to be replaced and if required the bore has to be rebored by 0.25 or 0.5mm depending on the clearance which is there on your bore. hope this helps.

                        • had a word with the mechanic in the evening. he said its not really bad. its just that normal ring noise. can manage for another two three months till i start the engine works. estimating the engine works at 5000Rs, even though its due two three months,
should i get the 135 4 speed setup considering the economy as well as power? or retain the 100 setup with power box for enhanced power and performance.need more suggestions other than 5 speed setup. whatever it is i need it on 4 speed only. so please suggest the mods.

IF u are suggesting 5 speed setup, am sorry but instead i am looking for rxz 5 speed. thats my other project.

considering these points suggest the mods that can be done without CDi(rdd ones)

                          • morning on the way to office tried to rip my RX, gaining 50-60 kmph was smooth then on the bike starts to vibrate and handle gives my joint a bad vibration massage..LOL but seriously what should be done to reduce the vibration at high speeds. is it because i am using a pulsar handle currently i am feeling this vibration? should i switch back to bar handle of RD?

                            • How did your mechanic tell that your engine is still in rideable condition ?
your piston rings are making bangles sound inside and he tells you that your engine is ok not so bad, come on is he nuts ! where is he located exactly, i wonder whether he is technically sound or not

Ask him to check the compresion, in turn if he asks you whats compression kindly take your bike and runaway from him as fast as you can ...

The problem is no where in to your handle, since your piston rings are noisier, speeds above 50kmph your engine will cry to do . the safest speed would 40-50 4to5k rpm. two or three blasts to 80kmph your engine will defently get seized or partial seizure will occur.

If i were you never had run the bike at all first get your engine back to shape, if you think it will run for 2 months or so take my words you will be spending more than 5k after 2 months for sure.

well the noise is not too much, i just noticed it while parking. and the vibrations while ripping in bursts. at lower speeds bike is smooth though. and is giving a decent(34-37) mileage as well.

but considering your advice, should i just change the piston rings? change the piston and piston rings and get the bore work done?

and sorry to say but the mechanic is technically sound AFAIK since i have seen him soup up bikes and convert the bikes to 5 speed, assemble new engines( specifically rx series). no question about his abilities. and he is the one who got the bike deal done. i give my kinetic to him which he has restored back to shape and life.
