well the wiring in the rx wont be all that expensive, must be well below 1000 bucks for the original one.dont get the single bar crashguard, wont help much. go for the oval ones like the pulsar or the two barred one as in the picture below. i think this one looks better than the single bar one as well. safety should be the first issue. posing can follow. considering lighting, if you have 12v setup then you can go for the hid bulbs. they will be giving you great illumination and the white light looks great too. i am myself looking for a philips one for my pulsar. quote the prices of the things you get in your post. it will be helpful for the readers including me

what rating bulb should i use? and for time being i am not adding anything.
sorry guys i need to look at the engine first. rest can stay as it is.
so what should i be looking for engine tuning? right now dont have idea of porting or boring. let it run as it is but have to tune it for better revving and fuel efficiency. how much will a new gear setup cost guys?
my gear lever is loose and am getting lot of false neutrals and sometimes its not engaging neutral at times. planning to change the gear setupBikes don't spill oil, they mark their territory.

Ha Ha this is the funniest post i have ever come across
, tell me how how can a 2.5 amp battery handle a hid ?
? if your battery it putting out 12 volts it doesn't mean that you can plonk a hid kit, if you need a hid you need to have a 9amps battery, please don't misguide anybody here
, if you don't know accept it or else use the term
"correct me if i am wrong "
Mind you xbhpians are not lurkers.
@karthik your shocks seems to have modified there height has been increased, get it back to stock or else you will be riding a very bad handling bike."Engine tuning is not an exact science, but with some practice and patience you'll get comfortable with your skill and be able tune for any conditions mother nature throws at you"

An HID can be easily fit or rather its plug and play in the ZMA which is just 7amps battery....
I dunno abt the RX, whether it can be fit in that or not...!!

i too thought the same and told my mech to reduce the height , he says this the normal height.Originally posted by psycho 98 View Post@karthik your shocks seems to have modified there height has been increased, get it back to stock or else you will be riding a very bad handling bike.
now my question is?
was there any difference in heights of 135 and 100 shocks?
and psycho what is the best rating bulb which has the best illumination.Bikes don't spill oil, they mark their territory.

the one on my bike is shabbily done and covered by black tape or something.
i want it in silver/black color. so should i get it and paint it or will i get one ready painted?Bikes don't spill oil, they mark their territory.

There was one article by sreekeerthi unfortunately the article has been lost in the server crash. its said that that 9amps battery supports well for the hid's.Originally posted by inder.cool View PostFYI...

If your mechanic tells its the same size i suggest you better change your mechanicOriginally posted by pk28.karthik View Posti too thought the same and told my mech to reduce the height , he says this the normal height.

The shocks height are same for 100 & 135, whats your rear wheel size ? get mico 35w bulb.
You get some nice handles in Sri hari automobiles rajkumar road next to bank of baroda, check them out.Originally posted by pk28.karthik View Postsorry for the second post.

Well, would like to clarify here.....Originally posted by psycho 98 View PostThere was one article by sreekeerthi unfortunately the article has been lost in the server crash. its said that that 9amps battery supports well for the hid's.
HIDs are of various types....say for example....they come with 35W OR 55/60W OR may be more power bulbs....so, in this regard the ZiMA can easily accomodate the 35W bulb(which is almost equal to the power of 100/90 bulb....this is basically due to the fact that it has really good reflectors..). So, the 35W HID bulb would be of no problem at the battery at all....
Now, coming to the 55/60W bulb.....that can also be fitted/work easily on the ZiMA(even with a 7 amps battery), but the thing is that some precautions have to be taken care so that the battery doesn't drain out fast....
I am currently running on the 55/60W Osram bulb in my ZiMA....and no problems as such on that....

hey psycho! dont get offended man!i never wish to misguide anyone here.first thing i dont know whether his battery's current rating is 9 A or 2.5 A. i suggested him to go for the hid's because it is a well known fact that the rx's stock lights are of no good. as for the current rating goes, as long as you have a setup for the voltage supply, you can vary the load and have variable currents.thats simple electrical engineering. voltage doesnt depend on the current flowing in the circuit, rather current is formed when there is some potential difference in the closed circuit( read voltage). that only means all he needs to do is vary the load ie the bulbs. rest you can change the wiring which can withstand 9A current as you said.may be a thicker one. our bike batteries are lead acid cells which produce voltage across its terminals by a chemical reaction. if he has setup for 12v he can surely fit in 9A battery if he doesnt want these troubles. noone is here to mislead anyone. we are all trying to help each other.i am no genius. and blogging here to share knowledge and learn new things.i hope my post doesnt offend you.sorry if it didLast edited by pulsarmaniac; 10-30-2008, 02:09 PM.

i was mentioning about the back shocks, it all depends on your budget whether hid or normal one. first concentrate on your engine get it to top notch condition and then think about lighting.Originally posted by pk28.karthik View Post@psycho
sorry but were you mentioning the front shocks or the back shocks?
i was looking at the back ones.
both the tyres are stock size.
and with all the discussions regarding the lights, can i go for the HID or normal 35w mico one?"Engine tuning is not an exact science, but with some practice and patience you'll get comfortable with your skill and be able tune for any conditions mother nature throws at you"

yes psycho engine is looked after. its in the better condition for sure. mech asked me that should he open the engine. i said dont even think of it. so now its back to cosmetics. engine just needs one full servicing.
for cosmetics
1. switches
2. headlight setup
3. tool box
4. mirrors
5. crash guard
6. front tires and rear tires
7. get the oil tank connected back
8. horn/buzzer
9. number plates
have to be changed and taken care of.
what can be cost of all these? just to make sure i am not overcharged
and guys the gear lever is loose what should be done. mech says we shall change the complete setup. shaft everything has to be changed. what do u recommend?
its loose near the nut and i feel the threads are gone so is the reason for that.Last edited by pk28.karthik; 10-31-2008, 03:01 PM.Bikes don't spill oil, they mark their territory.

Apart from 6 & 7 all the stuff is available in bangalore wheels rajkumar road, if the thread is worn out change the gear lever, even check connecting rod is in good shape or not. check the engine compression a healthy RX100 engine should hit 9:1.Originally posted by pk28.karthik View Postyes psycho engine is looked after. its in the better condition for sure.
