A brutally honest answer from a GS 150 Owner:

Dont buy the GS if you want to save a few tousands!

Seriously, I've owned it for almost 8 months and both the bikes are too good to be compared. The Hunk has a beautiful midrange compared to the GS but the bike has a problem (at least acts like it has a problem) with topend, My GS , right after my runin phase felt like a breathless beast to reach 106 on 6th! after like 3kays on the odo, 100 was common and cruisability was on the straight tarmac. Saying this I've almost never been able to lean at corners, not because the bike cant do it, but because of my broken arm from a few months back! I'm confident about the Hunk in that issue! the shocks and chassis make you feel confident at corners compared to the GS. The FE would be the same, provided the rider is sane!

About After Sales, I'd say It's kind of bad as of now, but you can expect it to improve soon! The HH sales is kind of well known, sometimes for the wrong reasons too, I'vr known a few who havent really gone back to the Auth.HH.Service. The suzuki's engine is kind of new and is more for the 30-ish commuter in you, the Hunk on the other is for that 16 year old wannabe in you!!

Hope I've confused you enough! Now go ahead and drive both these vehcile!

      ALL those replies.. awesome..
But even now as I started everything leads to hero honda's HUNK or CBZ xtreme.. If it wasnt for Honda's high cost, I might have considered that.

Someone criticizes abt hunk's plstic musceles,.. u should have a look at GS 150.. looks like a CAMEL.. with a hump on fuel tank..

I always do SANE driving.. Its jus I am worried abt the setin period. Are there any chances of getting bad mileages even aftr takin care during that period ?

Yup, the over worked staff and over packed SVC's are proof enough of this.

@ avenger: Yeah the plastics are kind of costly if you manage to break them, they serve no value whatsoever except for styling, but the so called Hump can store close to 17lts on the paper and 20lts on the road(personally experienced)..
Translates to more Kms covered in a tankfull. Like they say, dont judge a book by its cover...

Overpacked and Overworked employees are also signs of better sales bro

I dont trust the SVC mechanics, esp the one who say they've reduced the battery current rating to improve Engine performance..

Sorry for OT, but If i wanted to run my bike for 10 years I would skip the SVC and develop good rapport with a local mech/learn some basic stuff myself.

                Back at you MAN..
Don judge HUNK by its composite muscles.....
It dosen't add much to weight but GS150 on the other hand does with 20 ltrs of fuel and added metal...

To each his own guys, don't fight over brands! GS is a tourer's delight, whereas Hunk is best fitted to city shiners Choose which one entices you more.

and avenger, why dont you post a small intro man? Looks like you've made up your mind to buy the Hunk.. eh?

No offence bro, you were asking for suggestions, Posted mine, not meant to get back at you or anything but pure common sense. I'd like to add that the bike feels stable and flickability is least affected with max weights, thats a example of good engineering mate!!

Is shiny and all.. but.. feels like riding somthin lesser that 125cc

                            Test drive and decide

List out what you want to squeeze out from the bike

try a 3 kms test drive on both and decide

Any bike lasts longer but it depends on how you handle it

GS150R isn't damn costly suzuki is cheaper than Honda

By the way why Avenger isn't looking for Bajaj you can try the 4 valve one
also checkout the latest 150 cc offering from Yamaha

See... if you are among the honda fanboys, get the Hunk. hunk is by far the best bike from HH after the ZMA.

GS has the 6th cog, a nice digital console, is more refined, cruises better at high speeds.

So GS is a better highway tool and Hunk is a better city tool.
You decide where you gonna ride more and do get test rides of both. And don't worry about the reliability as the reliability depends on how you maintain your bike. I have seen people riding the first edition of the P150classic still with all the chrome shining and even the exhaust in the right condition. AFAIK this was the bike which was branded unreliable by everyone on the internet. But if you come to my city, you'll find loads of classics from the first lot running strong!
So my point is, if you are willing to take the pains to maintain your bike with periodic servicing and worn out part replacement, your bike can last a long time.

@ msn1.. I am not looking for a cruiser.. so no Avenger.
Yamaha's new 150cc bikes don have the same power as the real performance oriented 150cc bikes.

@ pavanchirmade Yes I know the first edition PULSARS are still runin strong.. I support them.. but the one's after it don have the same quality
