HUNK or GS150R

@Avenger88: The ones after the classics are even better as the little issues in the classics were sorted out in the newer editions. If you test ride the classic and the UG4 of the P180, you'll feel the difference in overall quality [build and ride].They have moved up and now down in terms of quality and reliability.
@abhis3k :Exactly my point.

I am seriously considering Hero Honda Hunk and the Suzuki GS150R. The lack of Suzuki service centers really worries me. The rusting of fuel tank and the high pillion rider position are the other two things bothering me.
Is the Hero Honda Hunk better when compared to these problems in the Suzuki GS150R ?
I think hunk bears the same engine that of cbz xtreme whereas suzuki gs boasts of xtp(xtra torque production) and 6 speed gearbox which will provide better mileage and higher top speed( maybe 115kmhr) .It has better riding position (semi- commuterish)which would keep your bums alive for longer journeys.

hmm...
But what about GS's road prescence...?
I have seen them on road..not much of a looker compared to HUNK..
And availability of spare parts.. And the guys on GS... I have seen them struggle in heavy traffic.. maybe they are first timers.. But I got scared. that fellow fell sideways aftr brakin to a halt at a traffic signal, never seen that with guys on hunk or pulsars or apache
I am using my dads CD100.. its been with us for 23 yrs, still in awesome condition..
So which ever bike I buy I wanna use it for a really long time..
And as days go by.. I am getting biased towards HUNK.. especially aftr the recent upgrades..
Catch my drift..?Last edited by Avenger88; 11-22-2010, 12:18 PM.sigpic

You can not go wrong with any of the bike. It will never be that one bike is horrendously wrong and another is beautifully right. Go with your heart and buy whatever you wish, because Hunk and GS150R are pretty comparable, and in able hands, both will perform best. Personally I don't like hunk's plastic muscle, and the fact that you can't use magnetic tank bag on it. If it doesn't concern you, go ahead! Both the bikes are built to last.

Awesome comfort.. Nice disk brakes.. soft but sure..
gonna test drive HUNK probably in the nxt two days..
Some say.. dazzler is the best in 150cc.. but I don like its style..
For a period of 10yrs.. which one should I opt for HUNK or Dazzler.. with the coming split of Hero Honda in 2014...sigpic

Just took test drive of GS150R.... and yesterday I test drove Unicorn DAZZLER..
Honestly, GS150R is just a hype in front of HONDA..
The comfort and the first feel of the bike you get when you sit on it and the confidence in handling the bike in all traffic conditions was MIND BLOWING in HONDA DAZZLER. GS150R is mediocre in front of HONDA..
Many said that GS150 had Butter smooth gear shifts..
. It was like trying to push an inverted bucket with air into a water tank. So stiff..
The rear seat was scary. If the rider was to break hard, the pillion rider would fly over his head and hit the vehicle in front.
Honestly, Bajaj PULSAR has a better overall feel than Suzuki GS150R.
However.. I know.. the thread says HUNK or GS150R, I did go to the Hero Honda showroom to test drive the new HUNK.. and they said all of them were sold out two weeks ago and the demand for it was higher than any other bike for this month. They din't even have one for Display..
.
They said me to come next month when the new stocks come... I hope I get a test drive soon...

If its between New Hunk and GS150R, The best bet will be Hunk.
Personally, I never found that GS150R has good crusing abilites and top-speed when compared with other 150cc's even with 6th gear as claimed. They are all same when it comes to 150cc's.
Look for better A.S.S. and go for it.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2008 - Yamaha YZF R15
2009 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2013 - KTM 390 Duke
2017 - Yamaha FZ25

You mean to say that a GS was cruising at 120kmph??Originally posted by darkknight View Posttell that to a guy named maestro who owns a gs who continuosly tagged a 120 kmph r15 for a 600 kms round trip 4 days back

I dont know what makes you think like that. The GS doesnt has any speed figures even close to that. It can only beat the fz, SZ or disco 150 in a race. Its somewhere around 108-110kmph. If you do not believe me then check any issue of bike india or overdrive.NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

Thread starter please test drive both bikes at least for 5 kms and decide here few are blindly recommending their favourite bike finally you are the one who going to use it so try as many as test drives and decide.Originally posted by madhav krishna View PostYou mean to say that a GS was cruising at 120kmph??

I am using gs150r yes its really a hunk (147 kg) bike to be frank I didn't find hard while driving.
In banglore roads its giving me 55 kmpl mileage.
Seat and seating position is comfortable many timesi travelled almost 50+ kms with my wife and 2years old kid both of them never complaint on its comfort level.
By default the engine sound is smooth and much calm (any bike engine character sets by the way you drive it)
2010 model gs150r models doesn't have any issues which are present in the old models.
At last about its speed once I reached 124 kmph on speedometer. And three times I passed 110 kmph on speedometerSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity
Currently Using Gusto |Enfield Bullet 500 | Ecosport Titanium+ Diesel
