the discussion is soon to be turned war! Let me offer some sane words before swords are drawn. The three modes in GS are:

1: ECO: The gear change indicator blinks at 4.5k rpm and stays on at 6k (or 8k, don't remember!) RPM. This is useful when you want max mileage and want to keep the bike below the power range.

2: POWER: The indicator stays on at 6k/8k (same confusion), but doesn't blink after 4.5k. I use it in ghaat touring, when I want to limit myself below the limit, but certainly above 4.5k/

3: EMPTY or GOD or KNOW IT ALL: This is when the indicator doesn't blink at all!

Now, some GS owners claim and swear the modes make difference in the power delivery and feel, and some think they are nothing but controllers for Diwali lights. Suzuki on its part has neither confirmed nor denied any of the two sides.

So I think this is good enough explanation of the modes

My advise to the thread starter remain the same, choose any bike and you can't go wrong.

You cant go wrong with either both are good

Hero honda bikes are know for quality and long life.

This time hero honda really done some technical updates also hehehe

Our intention is not hitting pass the three digit on speedometer.

How gs150r withstand and in past 115 kms where even some 160 cc struggles to in pass that range.

The answer is gs150r is having SJCS (SUZUKI JET COOLING SYSTEM) which comes in handy and keeps the engine temp in better way to attain better speed.

      For more info google sjcs

          Gs150r

          Will Definitely recommend you GS150R.

          Pros :

          1. Vibration Free Engine.
          2. Good Mileage.
          3. Butter Smooth Gear Box.
          4. Good Looking Console.

          Cons :

          1. Heavy.
          2. Rear Break would have been better.

I was in same confuse months ago made gs final choice and believe me it was a right decision.

I mentioned earlier in my posts.. I took test drive of GS150R.. and I dont like it.. Coz.. I test drove it immediately aftr test driving Unicorn DAZZLER... Handling of GS150 compared to Dazzler.. Sucks.. acceleration frm 0- 40 is less comparatively..

Since I cant change the title of the thread.. I am continuing this thread with options of Hero Honda Hunk and Honda Unicorn Dazzler

Right now, Hunk is the best, however if you doubt about future of HH, then go for GSR, it's very close to Hunk/Unicorn.

Hero will continue to operate independently after Honda gives up its stake. I don't expect any change in operations. Remember, it might be a matter of buying a bike for you; but there are too many dealers, suppliers etc who have their livelihoods at stake. There seems to be confidence in the business world that Hero Honda will continue to do well after the divorce (see Economic Times site by company).

Last June, the Munjal family split the business ownership stakes among themselves amicably (cashless) which is an achievement by itself. Usually things like these end up in messy power struggles.

HH has 3 years before they have to come up with their own technology.

It is not just HH, the 2 wheeler company, but Hero also owns several components businesses.

Overall, HH is in a better shape than many other 2-wheeler companies. I don't see them going the Bajaj/TVS route, they'll probably tie up with someone again.

                          That doesn't matters
any bike warranty max would be 2 years after that you need to take care

Core components such as Engine etc.. are sourced from Honda so honda one would be fit (i-e bore and piston) but most of the other components are sourced from vendors so those things are available in market anytime or it can be replaced with another one

                          example
we can use the p135 indicators on old RX 100

                          so go for it

It's a valid concern, but i must say neither Honda nor Hero will let their customers down. Strong reason being that both Spares & Service are good business and fetches good profit.

If you still doubt, then go for GS150R/Unicorn, both are very close to Hunk
