Would like to clarify a few things here...

Not only the times, but the business model too. Who would want to wait these days? Right from loan to laundry no one wants to wait & so the rush for everything.

Right we're changing from being irresponsible to responsible to business. We're no longer trying to behave like Govt employees

If we were terrified, we would not dare to ask leave right? But its just the planning stuff. We've our own plans while our supervisors have their owns, I mean w.r.t business. So our leave shouldn't affect the business & that's the point.

Well got the point, but again, it depends on company to company. To me, everything is mystery. There're days when I spend doing nothing from all during the day & there's work piling up at midnight. I'd be on vacation & all of a sudden there would be a con call. So it all depends on the business needs & nothing to do with bosses or terrifying.

My friends, I was simply yanking everyone's collective chain - no clarifications were needed.

That said, I guess it has something to do with the industries we work in too - I work in an architectural services firm - so ALL employees are 'qualified' architects.

We also represent several international firms as local architects, hence hours are sometimes crazy too - 12 hour differences in working times, etc.,

We too have rules about leave, applications need to be approved well in advance et al - YET - I've noticed that when a person really wants to take off, he/she does exactly that and to hell with the rules.

But then of course, we are after all only in the business of design and construction - nothing so life threatening that it can't wait till the next day....

@ Ananth - do you think an RE would be a more comfortable ride for me than the Ninja on those roads? If you think so, I'm tempted to bum my partner's Classic 500 for the ride. Only thing is that I'm terrified of RE's reliability and am afraid of getting stuck with an obstinate Bull somewhere off the map.

Sunny, Totally depends on your riding style. If you feel you would be more comfortable on a RE, Please do bring the C500. Dont worry about reliability - Just service the bike once before the ride & normal checkups should be fine. If we still need spare parts during the ride we will take it from Tarun's Bike

And honestly, C500 seems to be a better machine for riding in the beach & so i would suggest you may get the C500.

Kawasaki 250 to RE C500? Wow!

Though RE has got some downsides, would still make a good companion. Well, having said that, I would definitely expect you to get used to it at least for a few days and try and see if you are comfortable with that.

I second Sriram. the bull and the ninja are like chack and cheese and the lastr thing you would want is a bike you are not comfortable with on a 800km ride. If I am not wrong you have an FZ why dont you bring it.

Cool! If you are bringing the Bull, do a complete service first.
And as Sriram and Steve said, you need to get used to it. Ninja to C5 is a total shift. So, take the Bull for a short ride and then decide. You may need to get used to the vibrations. Dont worry about the reliability. I have never worried about the reliability . I have basic spares. Just keep half litre oil with you.
And if you are gonna give it for service, u need to book ur date for service. Your friend must be know that. Book it well in advance.

Having said all that, why dont you bring the Ninja? The roads aint gonna be that bad. And the Ninja aint that bad a back breaker? Or is it? And even in case you feel uncomfortable, you can ride my C5 and I can ride your Ninja

You're right - I'm going to try out the Bull over the next few weeks and then take a call. The Ninja's suspension set up is too hard for my back on bad roads - an absolute dream on a good surface though. If I find the Bull too stressful, I can still always be the support vehicle!!

I had a Fazer briefly while testing my back for durability before buying the Ninja. Sold it just before getting the Ninja.
