Went to SVC today. They said for warranty they need to show full service record including oil change by them, using TVS oil to the company! I told them you know thats just bullshit, just help me to get the warranty. They said, they will give details from some other new bike and try. They dont have stock, so they have given a tentative date of next friday... Hmmm. Now I'm afraid about their quality of work. Today they were saying it needs to be checked of crank needs to be replaced. I told them replace anything damaged, and he said it may suffice to change the bearing!

they sound like they are trying to make it up for all the missed out services by you.... anyways, we need to get your RTR running soon never-the-less... (you do remember the car adventure last quarter, don't you?) try to get an estimate from them 1st... check with Joel about the Ghost, tell him this is the current scenario of your bike... check with him about the perfection of the project etc... maybe it could be better if your RTR getting possessed by a Ghost is the best thing....

I've never missed any service till date. Just skipped on the oil change by them as I was using the Motul FS...
Yes, I've shot a mail to Joel as per Tintu's advice. Awaiting his reply. I did not want to touch the engine as long as possible. Now that its inevitable, I'll get it back in working condition, then joel(verb) it... So soon you can see a JRTR in Tvm... hehe

They told it will be in Feb 1st week. But as the new R15 is not launched, i think i will wait for that one...

Can you put this one at end of March? More fellows may get chance to come along. Some of guys like Varun, Fayad etcc may have exams, projects etc.... from college.

when ever a g2g in kerala is organised it always takes place in places near kochi. why is that. this time let it take place in south kerala. if we search ,we may find suitable places.

once the r15 engine got indiginised it started showing many flaws like engine oil leakage. latest news from the r15 thread is that the old r15 with indonesian engine had more no of clutch plates than the present lot manufactured in india. this resulted in slightly improved bottom end sacrificing top end. i seriously doubt the effectives of the new r15 with fatter tyres. why did yamaha used slim tyres in the first place if fatter tyres with similar performance were possible. so who ever is planning to buy the new bike do not hastily buy it out of temptation. test ride it to make sure it performs like the old bikes.
a yamaha engineer himself told me once that the first lot of r15s were the best.
