Re: Help for Uttarakhand : Planning

my dear friends, am really proud to be an XBHPian..
i whole heartily thank you all for your support and arranging relief material to be sent across Uttarkashi so that we can distribute directly to the affected locals. never guessed you all friends will contribute to such big extent ..
as of now we have received huge quantity of relief materials and few friends will bring them to Uttarkashi on thursday after which we will ourselves distribute to the villagers who have lost everything in the floods..we have identified couple of villages where no help have been received yet and people are reeling under post flood pains..
also we have adopt atleast one village for which we will look after all the needs, and for this we have decided to setup a Foundation in which we will allow ourselves to get more closer to all such people and Support in a better way..also we will be in a position to tak cash donations once our Foundation is on papers..
i shall request you all to accumulate cash receipts till then as we have lot of more work to do in coming days..

Re: Help for Uttarakhand : Planning

The urge to help others is one of those true measures of goodness. And considering how desperately our brethren in Uttarakhand are in need of help at the moment, no effort would be enough to get it for them. The xBhpians, when called upon, have risen to the moment and contributed with a passion that stands in direct comparison to their passion for motorcycling. When monetary help crosses the 50k mark, all within a week or so of being called upon to help, it reveals a collective heart full of compassion and concern. Thank you everyone for pitching in so selflessly with cash or kind. We shall ensure that each bit of the contribution reaches the one in need and is put to use in the manner it was meant to be. The G2G today was a revelation. The somber purpose at hand was responded to with great enthusiasm.

Sunil G shall be putting up a detailed account statement by today evening of the contributions and the manner in which they are being used.

Your pride is not misplaced Tilak babu. And we have full faith in you, that you will ensure the collected resources shall reach the right place. And considering the fact that you have a large stock of materiel (food and medicines) that you have received at Uttarkashi and that you want to utilize the monetary contributions in helping rebuild a village or two, we shall retain the money not yet spent and send it to the foundation when it is set-up. Which needless to say you shall set up ASAP. A couple of car-loads of food, clothing, tarps and medicines have been handed over to Sh. Rajib Acharya at Indrapuram. Sunil, Dipankar and others have purchased tarps in bulk and shall be handing over the same to them in a short while.
I don't let my motorcycles interfere with my motorcycling...

Re: Help for Uttarakhand : Planning

It was a good start to this Sunday.
Nice to see people/members come & meet for this good cause.

I really appreciate the efforts put in by SunilG, Dipankar & team. They are really tracking things well, doing the much needed coordinating to work to get the collections/goods to the victims who require this help.

May God Bless each and everyone who is directly and indirectly connected for this cause.

cheers to xBhpians for making this possible.

XBHPians have truly risen to the occassion. A call to help others were made & members promptly responded. I think this kind of camaraderie can only be found amongst true bikers. Honestly, never expected such a good collection. I believe there will be few more additions to the fund since Mumbai guys too had some kind of similar G2G yesterday.

Many thanks to everyone who has responded.

Re: Help for Uttarakhand : Planning

Thanks for everyone who helped us in this noble cause. We've managed to raise a significant sum (Rs. 52550), which I hope will be able to provide some relief to the affected locals in Uttarakhand.

Here is a list of the people who contributed at the G2G

ID:	1849741Hi guys,

Apart from Cash, a lot of people also contributed with food material and old clothes. We had around 40 KG of atta, more than 600 packets of biscuits, and around 30 packets of maggi courtesy Atul Modi and Shivanshu and his friend Siddhartha. Also there were several packets of old clothes donated by various members.

With that money, we bought 50 kg of Daal, 50 kg of rice, 150 meters of polythene sheet, and 93 Tarpulin sheets (12 x 15 meters and 15 x 18 meters), spending around 34,000 Rs.

The tarpulin sheets were the most crucial and most expensive material that we bought, 94 sheets @24,764

The rest of the money (53050-34000 = 19,050) is lying with us securely. We've put the purchase on hold Tilak & Co. had an overload of these supplies and thought it better to hold purchase for now. They'll be going on Wednesday to Uttarakhand and distribute this stuff and based on the inputs from the ground zero, we'll buy more supplies or as Tilak ji himself has said that they are looking forward to rebuild at least 1 or villages and are exploring the option of starting a new foundation, the money will be contributed there.

This Sunday it was an awesome experience to see all our Biker Brothers coming forward for this Noble Cause. I THANK YOU ALL for coming over and being a part of this. Special Thanks to Tilak Jee, who is personally going ahead and helping the locals. The contribution was big and so was the money collected. The materials which were collected at Dhaba was dropped at Tilak Jee's friend place in Indirapuram. There were 2 car loads on of my cousin Siddharth and other being of Old Fox Sir. Also a big thanks to "Bhains kee Ankh" for taking the pains to organise this.
                            Thank you all.

Guys, even I have a good news to post amidst the bad news that this disaster is... I saw this thread on 29th only and made up my mind to do something.

Most of you don't know but Sunil ji does, that I've been gathering donations from people I know in Ajmer, and I managed to gather Rs. 6150, out of which Rs. 1000 was my own contribution, and Rs. 500 came from my dad. Other major contributions were from Director of my institute, Sir Ishwar Tharaney and Dy. Director, Sir Vivek Tharaney. (Rs. 2000 and 1000 respectively). Prerna ma'am contributed Rs. 500 to the cause.
Tomorrow, I will deposit the money into Sunilg's account.

Experience: I was a bit surprised when one girl said that the people have been evacuated and the problem is over (!). That too a girl, whose father and mother were caught in the state while on a Kedarnath trip and were rescued only recently. But then I explained a bit about how people already living there are homeless now. Some others were saying that they have already contributed. Nevertheless, I wish to thank my college's Directors for helping out tremendously in this contribution. Many did refuse to contribute, its their wish anyways.
The truth is: many a people are still insensitive in our society... but the sensitive ones make the heart of this nation. No doubt about it.

The donation money of Rs. 6150 is deposited, Scan is Posted too. See the first post of the thread now...
