Require Road conditions from Pune to Nashik
I was thinking of the mumbai route too since I think it would be 4 lane highway route... but the additional 70 odd kms are strenuous...

So sticking to Pune - Nashik.

Pune -- Rajgurunagar(till toll booth ends) - - Good one
RajguruNagar--Alephata( Moderate) -- Single lane, heave traffic, stupid buses & cages
Alephata --Chandanpuri--Sangamner( Smooth )-- Traffic at sangamner bridge is expected. Dont forget there is an alternate route parallel to the bridge down the river for two wheelers.

Sangamner -- Sinnar (Smooth) --Super duper dash for me !

Sinnar--Nashik(Bad) -- Crazy omni's that ply nashik shirdi . Loads of traffic.

Antz ka record puchna iss road pe ..

I take around 4.5 hrs for a smooth ride from nashik to pune. Also have a look at Pune--Nagar--Nashik . Have not done it , but may be antz can give you some idea.

Thanx Amit and Kartik. I would look into the routes now regarding speeds and overall travel time.
My bike wont be cruising more than 80kmph or 90kmph max. And yes Kartik 5 hours are more than enough...

Yes Sir,
No problem, we would have a g2g scheduled in that week anyways. Wednesday would be the day, location would be uploaded on Monday - 1100hrs.

NH50 would take anywhere between 4-7 hours depending on traffic. 4 hours if you start at 5.30/6AM, 7 hours if you start between 10AM - 3PM.

Pune - EWay - Kalamboli - Thane - NH3 - Nasik is only feasible if you are using a Car. Takes 4.5 hours, so can be used if you cannot start at dawn.

Pune - Ahmednagar - Nasik will take you back to Sangamner, so no use since the highest + notorious traffic area of Sinnar - Nasik is still on the route.

Since you will be going from Sinhagad road, you could ride all the way till Dehu Road and take the shortcut to Chakan. BUT, that road is 1.5 lanes only and is full of speed breakers though not as many potholes.

Road conditions already given by Karthik so I need not repeat.

Warning: Do not ride at >60kmph after you see the right turn towards Shirdi on NH50. There are a LOT of villages between this turn and Nasik Road Station (official beginning of Nasik City) and villages = villagers= blind pedestrians who do not see you even AFTER you crash into them.

Warning 2: Carry at least 2 liters of water (2 x 1liters). It is VERY Hot these days.

Couple of us are planning on a short ride tomorrow morning, probably to Amby Valley. I know its pretty late to ask, but anyone interested?

If there are already any plans afoot we'd love to join, instead of dashing off to amby valley.

And eshan you are such a big fan of butter chicken right, there is this place called "Kokni Darbar" in nashik which serves fantabulous B.C .Do try it out if you have time , you wont regret it !
