If you are going on this road (from Dharwad), you got to be careful, as the turn off on the Dharwad-Hubli by pass is not well marked and there are couple of turn's off, on the bypass, with not many people around to ask for directions. (Ask for Yellapur in case of doubt).
The road back then was narrow and hence the traffic felt a bit high (due to narrow road), until you join Hubli - Yellapur road.
Just when you pass dharwad , keep your eye on the left for a turn around point to "Kalghatgi" , once you are on this road there should not be any issues with directions. There is decent sized board , but you can easily overshoot past it .
One small piece of advise , there are interceptors post dharwad route. Do not overspeed as they will fine 300 bucks for sure. Especially near that high court area ..
      Have a safe trip .

What is XENA you are talking about? Googling on it took me to some bike disc locks and security products. Is that what you meant?

                • Please suggest some jackets for in the city riding..!!!!!

Hi All... I am very eagerly looking forward to but a meshed jacket for primarily city riding under this scorching Pune heat. It becomes difficult to ride my usual touring jacket in the cite for that matter under extreme hot weather. Need a few stores in Pune, I could check out for the same. If Mumbai has better options then I could get it from Mumbai too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am not quite aware of all the brands out there know a handful of them so please suggest me considering the usage, basically in the city and cost.
Also, AFAIK, Mesh jacket wont work in the rains. So is there any thing I could do to my current jacket that would make it capable of beating the rains, to a greater extent. I dont think so the one that I have is a water tight one .

If there are any stores in Pune, please send in the locations and preferable route as well from Pune station. I would check them today only.

                  cheerzz..
ride safe and wear helmets ...

                  Thanks..

Btw, the KTM showroom has started selling KTM merchandise. I saw KTM jackets in the Bund Garden showroom. You might want to check them.

@Alibaba: Ya already seen, they are a bit overpriced. Jacket retails at 15k, & Gloves retail at 5k.

RJays Octane (~8K) or now I'd go for Joe Rocket Pheonix (~10K). If you don't want to spend that much don't go for anything else other than RJays Swift (~5K)

No jacket can protect you against Indian monsoon, no matter what the claim. Best you get an oversize duckback to wear over it.

Why only city? These mesh jackets would be useful during touring too! My octane saves me from the heat on the highway to a good extent.

                              • The Midnight Offroading - Telbaila thread is up...Please have a look..

Went offroading and got to know one more use of the helmet's padding..

Its a good place for lizards and insects to sleep

I slept in between the rocks seen in the pic next to the helmet..

Early morning quickly wore the helmet and rode the bike for about 5-10mins...i constantly could feel something moving inside my helmet..but thought it must be the cap of the offroading helmet moving..

Got off the bike and removed the helmet only to find this

Moral is never sleep in crevices where creatures are supposed to sleep and if you do...even if you dont check your baggage..make sure you check your helmet first !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)
