            • Speedo issue solved at huge expense.

              Hi guys,

I had written about my speedo issue.

A rat had chewed the cable right at the surface of the sensor so there was no possibility of an insulation tape jugaad and the sensor had to be replaced.

Very costly part -it cost me Rs 2950. And this for a part made in India. Sad.

Punjab Honda, Rajkot excused me the labour charges as I had already taken a big hit for no fault of mine. @#$%&* rat...

The speedo is okay again, thank God.

HAHAHAHA...I have a similar story to tell.

A rat ate some part of the ECU connector on my R15 when it was a few months old. Thankfully the rat found the first aid kit under the seat to be more delicious and ate most of the bandages and ointments. The damage to the ECU cable was limited to an open insulation which cause the bike to flutter at idle.

I also found a rat resting on the fuel pump of my Indica once. The common factor in both the cases was that it had rained pretty heavily and both the times, my vehicles had been on a long trip before the rats decided to call them home.

Seems like rats hate the dropping temperature when it rains and try to find warmer places ergo, end up under seats and bonnets of vehicles that have just been parked.

May I suggest coating various wires in your bike with Rat Poison?

The same thing happened to my Dzire too! They dined on some insulation and must have not relished Maruti's material cause they crapped in the engine bay and did not return LOL.
