Expect zero visibility on roads after Mahabi to pratapgad, its all in clouds. I had taken my DSLR but dint click much as it was raining very heavily. This wasn't tiring at all just for one reason being the roads were good. Expect lots of waterfalls atleast 10 in between the route, just park and have a bath just in case you got up early for the ride, mountain water at its best. The R15 was quite easy on wet roads, had 4 Bajaj Avengers so i was actually eased out during the ride.
Atop Pratapgad, pithla bhakri has to be the perfect one along with kanda bhaji. One good thing about this fort is that you can ride all the way near the main entrance of the fort, and then walk 40-50 steps till the eating place. So if you are visiting this fort with all your safety gears then it isn't much to trek, i mean walk, there is actually no trek here.
Good dhabas on the Poladpur highway which requires a diversion on the left towards Pratapgad. Yummy chicken stuff.
The ride totaled to 310kms completely, perfect for a Saturday because my body is actually hurting now as I type this.
Stopped at Mapro for ice cream and chocolate brownie, Gulped one sandwich too with coffee.
Something better than Amby i feel for corners and rains and from everything, the cloud ride is still fresh in my mind and it wasnt for some 2 or 3 kms or so, it was for almost 15-20kms after Mahabi to Pratapgad.
PS - Sorry i couldnt make it for the last moment g2g at tmc followed by dhaba stuff. I reached home around 9pm, thaklo vait, direct zhoplo.

. .
, and with the road width accommodative of exactly 2 trucks and not an inch more, we had to take evasive action regularly. No amount of headlight-work or even waving would help. We just had to slow right down, get off the road onto the gravel and almost stop
4 laning is in progress, and I hope it gets done soon. We ran into the Project Engineer of the 4 laning project during lunch at Solapur, and he told us that the Pune-Solapur stretch is apparently infamous for being the road that contributes the highest number of road-deaths yearly.
