      • Guys,

Urgent need to buy an A* Jacket.
DSG doesn't have it in stock. Anyone has any idea for any other store or any reliable offshore store.
Any trusted shop in Delhi would also do.

try FC-Moto.de - Motorrad-Helme, Motorradbekleidung, Jet Helme & Cross Helme. Select dollar payment and it will display all prices in dollars. Useful for comparing with other websites. Their deals section offer some real good buys. A friend of mine has ordered some stuff from there, he is expecting delivery tomorrow. will let you know his buying experience
I have personally ordered stuff from amazon, and there have been no issues at all. amazon delivers to the doorstep, so no headaches of going to the PO and paying the customs duty etc. They charge a deposit for customs during ordering.

            From what I have learnt
Dry type lubes are used in Heavy Machinery just for the fact that oil gives up at high temprature (flash point) and the down time will cost much, plus dismantling just for lubrication is another issue.

            As for car and bikes
            Oil based lubricants
do well to preserve the part as they don't reach their flash point save the engine, and their is ease of periodic maintenance,
            plus lesser downtime.

Now if dry type lubrication is used in Racing it is to save time and the limits to which the parts are stretched where as we hardly utilize bikes to 80% of their capability on a daily basis
Now why would anyone want to spend so much time and money on these things when you can get something cheap and durable and approved by the designers sitting and designing an Automobile.

On a positive note as i see it
Thank you for adding up to our knowledge base.

Plus I am curious to know
what difference did these imported lubricants have made to the steeds
in terms of durability, performance as compared to the oil based ones?
Also a cost comparison will help us to know better?
are there any substantial results you can show us here?

Bro, i am using the yamalube which is a dry lube and its doing fine with my R15 since its the 3rd can that i am using and i need to lube less and my chain readjustments is less, chain life is improved as it reduces drag on high speeds as the lube is taking care of it. normally i see many R15 owners are on the last adjustment moment the r15 hits to 18k mark but in my case i am still on 4th touching 20 k kms. Earlier used motul and tvs lube but the lube was not lasting long. Using this i have never had any issues like chain drags and all.

I remember reading about this ride sometime back Click here
                And the xBhp thread HERE

The article says, The record for covering the Golden Quadrilateral in the shortest possible time is held by Dr Arnob Gupta, also from Bangalore, who completed the journey in 118 hours on a modified 225 cc bike. Kumar and Nayak had hoped to complete the journey in under 100 hours.

He rode almost non stop from bhubaneshwar -- chennai - bangalore -- towards pune .. I could not imagine my state riding that much .. :P

                            • I was in Pune yesterday between 10:30 AM (exited expressway) to 3:50 PM(entered expressway). But had come by car. Was in a hurry so couldn't catch up.

Will be driving over to Mumbai day after tomorrow, returning the next day. Riding is slow, but can't say the same thing about the Driving.

                                Okay here goes...

There is a huge transfer of what I use to ride and what I ride now, major difference. A Pulsar 180 to a R15, I mean, the difference is hell lot. My body and mind are getting confused when approaching a corner, getting out that city bike feel to a sports bike feel is difficult to adapt, i had major fishtailing when reducing gears before a corner. Leaning is another problem, the concept of cornering is clear in my mind but then getting accustomed to the bike is not.

                                1) Check entry speed and entry point.
                                2) Scan the corner through the apex till the exit.
                                3) Brake if required before entry.
                                4) Lean In - (major problem in accustoming body positioning in the cockpit)
                                5) Throttle lightly
                                6) Apex
                                7) Lean out, Scan and confirm the exit
                                8) Throttle a bit more than step 5
                                9) Exit the corner
                                10) Bike straighten up and ready for next corner

The theory part is done, but the required body positioning is getting screwed.

                                1) Do we grip the tank on a R15 with our scrotum sack about to burst
                                or
                                2) Do we sit all the way behind till the monkey bone touches the pillion seat.
                                or
                                3) Sit midway

I know that lower body plays a major role in handling the bike. But Posture is where I **** up.
