@Eshan: When you downshift, your rear wheel skid because your rear wheel speed and engine speed doesn't match. After downshifting, when you let go the clutch, the mismatch between engine speed and rear wheel speed is the reason for the rear wheel to lockup (and skid) a bit - trying to match up with the engine speed.
The solution for this is to blip the throttle a bit before down downshift. How much to blip the throttle, you will learn by practice.

Eshan - Imagine on a straight road your bike is at a speed of 90 kmph in fifth gear and you down shift to 4 without reducing the speed, the bike will wobbles until it the speed of tyre and engine matches. Same is case on corners just that since your is not upright but slanted.
@ Nav & Sanjay - That solves the skidding issue. I thought I knew every shit of cornering but this R15 is making me feel like a Junior KG kid who is trying hard to get into primary school, its holding my position right there, failing every time. I mean there is so much to learn on this bike, every minute detail makes a difference. On the Pulsar things were way different, just going with my pace.

I hope, i have got the theory right.

This is going to happen irrespective of the bike... be it R15, pulsar or ZMR... its physics.... it might be happening on pulsar also just that u weren't so conscious at that time or you didnt carry much speed till braking point (i mean instead of quick slow down u might be opting for gradual slow down and hence no skidding) (i guess) ... anyways.... happy cornering with R15....

              • Why shift gears at the corners? Its better that you shift the gear (according to the need for speed & banking if any) before arriving at the apex of the corner. Shifting gears at the corner leads to unbalanced forces as your ride is already dealing with centripetal/fugal forces as well as change in C.G due to leaning. Also follow the funda of "slow in & fast out" while taking corners it definately helps a lot. @Eshan-P180: its because R15 lets you explore a lot more because of its perimeter frame & different engine characteristics. A tip of advice for R15 owners, try taking corners in lower gear @ higher r.p.m rather higher gear @ lower r.p.m

So much of discussion happenin for correcting the cornering techniqes... I have this theory about it and though I dont have such a track born experience... But i ve tried this a few times ... As the rear tire snakes you while you let the clutch out and slow spinnin engine drags the rear wheel ... The best way could be to blip the throttle whn clutch is pulled in, so that the engine speed matches wheel speed. Some one actually suggested me in here that before you jump in the deep and try doing this at once, its good if this should be practiced with the things like two fingred braking as its not possible to ve all fingres on the brake and still manage the throttle.
To start with... Should try this in straight lines and then only try it out on curves.
I find this advise quite clear and resolved. Havent tried this yet but hope this is the correct way as a start up.
i am sure, people have their own styles and comforts doing so. But i am sure this is one of the things most of us face and want to rectify.
                  happy riding and cornering

Bro i do agree its a completely different cornering on a R15 and pulsar but its not that hard too... After u got ur R15 i never saw u hit the roads to Lavasa, No matter how much theory u read n learn u need to put that in practice...you just are too afraid to use the potential...Trust your bike then u will understand how she responds even in tight corners. Its real adrenaline fun N for the love of god increase your pace man your on an R15 now
Life is full of twists, if you want them to be smooth learn to corner hard... \m/

                          • @ Everyone and includign the G2G planners - It seems the G2G quality which we used to have earlier has gone really in bad stage, Earlier when we had meets called by Vishwas, rohit or eshan we used to have good and technical stuff to talk and keep everyone interested, no matter let the talks be on a 100 cc bike to a Ninja or bigger displacement bikes or even new launches of bikes.

There was so much to learn and everyone right from noobs to experienced people would gain knowledge out of it, but currently i see the meet is more like that all of them come at particular destination at given times and decide, about where to go for food and dinner and say good bye and walk out for dinner where others do some other timepass and go home, so good and healthy discussion is out.

As we had many good discussion in our previous G2G and those were really good and healthy discussions carried out but currently i felt the quality of G2G has become more like we meet only for hogging and nothing else.

i would like the senior and old members to come up with solutions on how to make the G2G more interactive and better, so the G2G covers some good technical stuff and keeps everyone interested.

i would also suggest to keep the G2G once in a month instead of every wednesdays and if we can plan it on one sunday in a month, it would be good as many people who have off can also participate.
