Thanks a lot. So I assume that the ride should take about 12 hours including breaks for breakfast and lunch. I shall try to do a test run this Diwali on my CBR to check it out personally.Originally posted by Viper1089 View PostOur ride started at 5.30 in the evening on Saturday so we had to take a halt at Karad at around 8pm. Next day we started at 7 am and reached Calangute at about 1.30 pm. While returning we stated at 7 am and reached home at 7 pm. Our travelling times are in no way suggestive of how much time you would take. I had a friend on a Pulsar 150 2002 model who was completely new to rides. He had never done a ride above 100 kms before. His bike could manage 60 -70kmph consistently for most part of the ride. Very seldom did he cross 80 kmph. Also we took a lot of butt breaks. But the Nipani route is the quicker of the 2 and a good one.

Yes..i did buy somethings! You can ask Nathan for combined shipping charges if you are buying more items and that will be around 30-45 depending on the number and the weight of the items. There are no extra charges and the payment is through paypal, so its pretty much safe. The only trouble is passing through the customs. Depends on your luck! If they do, then you have to pay the post office around 35% of the value of your goods when you collect the same.http://www.californiasuperbikeschoolindia.blogspot.com

Kolhapur Ride - 13-10-2012 Saturday
I'm visiting the Mahalaxmi Temple this Saturday, others can join if interested. Main point of the ride is to visit and take blessings, this will take 30-45mins, So till I'm done you guys can check out other places or join me for prayers. The route is in good conditions except few patches on NH-4 and inside city. We would be hitting back Pune around 3 or 4pm max. Planning to visit a very small sanctuary and New Palace and Museum (the food section out here is authentic kolhapuri thats why), if not that then enroute back we can halt for lunch (Compulsory). The Palace is a quite place and has the culture of Kolhapur present. Please see the map attached in the post.

Last evening, I went for a headlight check ride. About 40 kms return trip on the Rajkot - Jamnagar highway.
I confirmed what I had suspected for long - the power, reach and spread of the high beam is completely inadequate for high speed riding on the highway where there are no streetlights . I tried adjusting the beam for elevation and depression but the bulb just does not have the raw power to light up the road ahead in a way that would make 80 kmph+ riding FEEL safe.
In commuter riding within the city, it is more than enough but clearly not designed for the highway.
Can any of us help me here? The best solution would be a simple replacement type arrangement. I will NOT do any cutting etc of the mounting plate and what not.

@Maneesh Sirjee, The trick for high beam is to set up the beam exactly parallel to the road surface in front. Any higher, and you will blind the oncoming traffic and any lower, you will not get enough illumination ahead. Even if you do not get too much light on the road surface in this configuration, you can sharply see unlit obstacles, if any, on the road ahead due to the angle of your beam. Most of my solo rides start in the dead of the night and thats how my lights are set up.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
